Sunny 2 bedroom Brownstone Apartment in a quiet building. Located in the heart of Bedford-Stuyvesant. Near local restaurants Peaches & Saraghina. Laundry Mat and grocery store located right around the corner. Park and playground 4 blocks away. Walking distance to A, C , G & J Train stations. Local shopping area walking distance.
Nice clean place, the owner was very helpful and polite, it's well furnished,
We stayed in Carl's place last September. Although we were bit shocked by the look of the building from outside, the apartment was nice, clean, smelling good, comfortable sofa and working bathroom. We had our full privacy for the whole stay. Carl was nice, waiting for us upon our arrival. There is grocery store right behind the corner. This is a good place to stay in when you travel on budget. Worth the price.
This place is great and very affordable. The kitchen is well equipped and the tv has cable. The bathroom is a bit small but it is very clean. The bedroom have decent sizes and the owner will provide you with pillows and sheets. The only thing I would say was missing were MIRRORS. Such a necessity for an all girl trip.
Like the previous reviews say, it is close to the subway station and there is a Deli across the street. They make delicious turkey sandwiches. You can also find a wine & liquor store, chinese and pizza place not too far. You can also find a supermarket 5 minutes from the apartment.
Overall, I would recommend this place to small families or group of friends who are looking for a clean and affordable place to stay. It's a great place to stay in the summer. BUT…it does get a bit loud in the morning and sometimes evening. It is New York after all !
Thanks again for your hospitality Carl, we hope to rent from you in the future !
we stayed at carls appartment for 9 days and had a great time! the appartment is very clean and spacious and provides everything you need. against other comments we didn't find it noisy. it's a nice area, we felt absolutely safe. supermarkets, restaurants, deli etc. - everything in walking distance. normally we took the bus no.15 to get to the A-train (but you can walk to the A-train station (utica) as well. by the way: the bus no.15 brings you directly from JFK airport close to the appartment!! (bus stop is just around the corner). unfortunately we didn't know that before so we took a taxi.
we can absolutely recommend this appartment if your're looking for a place close to downtown.
The owner, Carl, is very nice. The inside is excellent, and was renovated not too long ago. It is very clean. The outside of the building desperately needs paint. It is a bit shocking actually, when you walk up to it. Don't worry, it's nice inside. The only problem for us was that people gathered on the street out front late at night, and made a fair bit of noise. I had to sleep on the pull out couch in the living room, to escape the noise. It is a short bus ride to the subway, maybe a bit too far to walk (12 blocks?). The bus comes every 9 minutes so that is no problem. For the money, it's a good place. There is not much in this price range in New York City.
My friends and I flew into the city to celebrate my birthday and we had the great pleasure of staying in this apt. We were happy to see that the apt looked just as it did in the pictures. : ) Carl thought of everything we might need for our stay, and supplied us with towels, blankets and a very clean apt! This place is very, very spacious and my friends and I were able to sleep very comfortably due to everyone having had their own room. This apt is walking distance from buses and subways, and it's close to a convenience store as well. Carl was very friendly and provided us with directions to transportation, and even gave me a ride to another friend's apt on a rainy day. Where are you going to find hospitality like that in NY?! : D My friends and I really enjoyed staying here and I know that we will definitely stay here next time we are in NY. I highly recommend this place to anyone who is traveling on a budget. Thanks again Carl! :D We really appreciated your hospitality!
