This is a very private oceanfront house located on a second floor with a magnificent view for your enjoyment and relaxation. The ocean is right there on the backyard. Just step out and you are there on the beach. Located in a fishery town where you can smell the salty air and feel the coastal living at its best. This house has it all: comfort, nature, space, direct access to the beach and location. It is conveniently located close to everything, where you can taste the locals and the rest… Walking distance from a local supermarket, a local restaurant, a bakery and a sea food market, where fresh fish is awaiting for you to buy at low price!!! Some other nice restaurants, shopping malls, and points of interest for you to sight seeing are located near and some others within 1 hour driving, without the crowded feeling of the metropolitan area. However, you always have the option to drive to Old San Juan (1 hour away) and El Yunque Rain Forest (2 hours away) and come back to relax.
Amenities: The property is on a second floor of a two story house with a stairway as the only access to the house. Villa Abeja Beach House is a fully furnished and equipped house with a secure gated parking for 2 cars. The house has 3 bedrooms (2 bedrooms with full beds and another bedroom with 2 twin beds), 1 full bathroom, living room, dinning room, full kitchen and a balcony with a magnificent view to the Atlantic Ocean. It has convenient appliances such as refrigerator, microwave, toaster, coffee maker, cooking gears, stove, ceiling fans everywhere, water heater, 32” Flat TV Screen, basic cable, internet access/WIFI and DVD. Historical sites: The Arecibo Light House is a historical monument erected in 1898, which is 3 minutes away walking from our backyard. It was the last lighthouse built on the Island by the Spanish. La Cueva del Indio is an archelogical site located 10 minutes away driving. Drawings of Indian that lived in this area in the Prehistorical Era are found in the walls of the cave.
Local cuisine - fresh sea food: You can go walking to El Guayabo Rest., a very typical place to taste local cuisine made with fresh sea food catch by fishermen right across the street in the Marina. Other restaurants such as El Salitre, El Salpicón, Picholo, The Light House are available for all tastes.
Besides having a spectaculor view of the Atlantic, this home is conveniently located to multiple businesses, attractions, and the all of the main roads to get around. Angel and Gladys are charasmatic, accomodating, informative, and attentive to all your needs while you stay. My family and I were received with cold coconut water and an earlier arrival which we highly appreciate. Our use of the home was very limited because we took the opportunity of a short week to move about the island to visit family and attactions, but we really enjoyed our stay. Thank you again Angel and Gladys. Vega Family
We had a wonderful time during our stay at this beautiful vacation home. It is close to many restaurants and stores for convenience. The pictures are exactly as the property looks and is in very good condition. The kitchen was clean and we were able to use all the amenities, no problem. Angelo and Gladys were very nice and helpful during our entire stay. They provided helpful maps for us to navigate our way to the closest stores and also gave some great restaurant recommendations. It is just a five minute walk down the beach to the Arecibo lighthouse and there you will find the best beach in Puerto Rico! A quiet swimming lagoon and cliff rocks for jumping if you are more adventurous. It is also a two minute drive away from a wonderful restaurant where you can really enjoy a nice night out to dinner. The street vendors close to the neighborhood cook up some amazing tostones and other street fare. For the most part, we really didn't want to leave the house at all. There is everything you need here to have a wonderful Caribbean getaway!
We were fortunate enough to spend a whole week in this perfect ocean front home. The pictures are exactly what you get! Angelo and Gladys take great care of their little piece of paradise. They are very thorough with the whole process and are there anytime you need them. Anglelo text us turn by turn directions as soon as we were off the airplane, which was great because San Juan is a tricky place to navigate.
We all had a great time our 3 kids loved playing in the yard and trying to catch the lizards. The deck is huge and wonderful, the view was more then we could ask for! And the Hammocks, Loved the hammocks, and so did our kids! The access to the beach was great, so nice we could just go out and hangout at the beach without having to pack us all into the car. We were able to walk down to the lighthouse, which has a great little ocean pool perfect for the kids and they were able to easily snorkel and saw quite a few fish. As with any ocean the later you go the rougher it gets so go early.
As far as the location it was nice to be a little more centrally located. The neighborhood is not all beautiful, there are some things that need improvement, but that can all be forgotten as soon as you get inside the gated property, and then all you have is a lush tropical oasis, and a very well kept home!
I do have to say the best part of our trip was being able to see the baby turtles make their way in to the ocean for the first time. There were nest all along the north shore. A once in a lifetime event for sure!
If we do ever make it back to Puerto Rico I will definitely be staying here! Thanks again for a great Family vacation!
My boyfriend and I loved this house! I have never heard such loud wave crashing in my life (and we live a few blocks from the ocean in LA). The sound of the waves 24/7 is spectacular and really makes you feel like you are on vacation in paradise. We spent the majority of our time at the house on the upstairs balcony overlooking the water or down on the deck grilling and watching the waves. We stayed in 5 locations all around Puerto Rico for over 2 weeks and this home had the best natural breeze of any of the coastal properties we stayed at- so mosquitos and bugs were not a problem were you might have that issue at other locations. My boyfriend and I are strong swimmers but the beach the property is located on has pretty intense waves (hence the amazing sound) with a rough undertow so I wouldn't recommend it for a swimming beach but it is great for lounging or sticking your feet in or taking a quick plunge (sometimes the waves are calm in the morning and one could do a swim or when the tide is ideal). The property truly is beach front so you can step right outside the house and lay on the sand anytime! The kitchen is well equipped with a fish market within walking distance so cooking great fresh meals in the house is easy. I loved this Arecibo location in Puerto Rico as great nature is so close- Indian Caves, amazing waterfall hikes, river tubbing, cliff diving! The owners were very helpful with finding nearby attractions and directions and helping make the stay perfect!
Another fabulous stay at this beautiful house.
If you're looking to get away from it all yet still have every amenity and convenience this is the place to do it. Literally steps from a gorgeous beach and a fabulous view.
The house is perfectly located in a quiet neighborhood that is still close to many wonderful attractions. Fall asleep to the sounds of the ocean and greet the dawn with a stroll on the beach. Very highly recommended!!
This was our first visit to Puerto Rico. We initially Stayed in San Juan for a couple days to do all the Metropolitan exploring and then wanted something off the beaten path and away from the crowds to relax on the Beach.
Angelo and Gladys were just wonderful to work with. Gladys met us at the property, went over everything with us, and then left us to unwind, relax and explore their lush beach front property.
It truly was a Tropical Oasis with Gorgeous views and lush vegetation. We enjoyed the privacy of the high walls and gated property as well as the quiet beach.
Being from Texas I was initially concerned about no air conditioning and when I mentioned that to Angelo, he assured me there were fans in every room and the constant tropical breeze off the ocean would make it a non issue. He was right.
Just an absolute gorgeous property. Angelo and Gladys are absolutely wonderful and make themselves available 24/7 should you need anything.
The Beach and sand are breath taking. The waves can get a little rough so if you have little ones, you definitely want to be in the water with them.
Sunrise and Sunsets will take your breath away. We enjoyed both on the deck especially in the evening grilling outside on the BBQ with a glass of wine and paradise surrounding you.
The neighborhood is an interesting mix of well cared for homes and some not so much but everyone we came across was very very nice.
If I had to improve upon anything, it would be the water pressure of the shower inside. There is however a shower outside to wash the sand off you before going in which we used daily, but more water pressure in the shower inside would be better for the final rinse of sand and shampooing.
We decided to check out a day early because we were going to El Yunque rainforest our last day and planned dinner downtown San Juan. with a 10:30 am flight it made more sense to spend our last night in town. Angelo had no issues with that and arranged to meet us at our hotel so we could return the keys. Leaving was hard. I can tell you that.
Thank you Angelo and Gladys for sharing your Tropical Oasis and making our first ( definitely not our last ) visit to Puerto Rico and memorable vacation.
