PAYMENT TERMS:

TRANSPORTATION TO/FROM AIRPORT:

• If you need transportation to your rental property, we can send a trusted driver with a van to pick you up.

• The rate is US $35 one way for 4 passengers. There is room for up to 6 passengers with suitcases per taxi. US$5 extra per passenger.

• You pay the driver directly and keep his number for future transportation needs during your stay.

ELECTRICITY IS EXTRA AND BASED ON CONSUMPTION:

• The Dominican Republic is a developing country and it has it's challenges in regards to cost effective electricity distribution. Therefore, to encourage renters to conserve electricity during their stay, they will be responsible for electricity charges during their stay.

• We collect an ELECTRICITY DEPOSIT IN CASH UPON ARRIVAL. It is just a DEPOSIT, real consumption calculated at the end of your stay and deducted from the CASH DEPOSIT PAID UPON ARRIVAL. See deposit requirements below.

• Normal consumption is $5-10 per day for a 1 & 2 bedroom, $10-$15 per day for a 3 & 4 bedroom and $25-$30 for Villas in Cocotal Golf.

RENTALS LESS THAN 30 DAYS: We require an ELECTRICITY DEPOSIT (CASH ONLY-UPON ARRIVAL) of US$20 PER NIGHT for 1 & 2 BDR's CONDOS, US$30 PER NIGHT for 3 & 4 BDR's CONDOS and US$50 PER NIGHT for VILLAS in COCOTAL GOLF.

The electricity meter will be read at check-in and check out. The meter can be self monitored daily. You will be charged at the current rate and deducted from the cash deposit. The difference will be returned to you on the day of departure.

Our first experience living among the locals

Rating Details:

The property manager was very helpful.

The vacation rental was very clean.

I was happy with the location.

I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental.

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental.

The condo itself is very nice and clean,but the furniture is not comfortable, the beds are hard, the TV is old and colours are distorted. The worst thing about this place is the triplex facing the back, the dog barks all day, and there is a steel gate that they open every time they move their cars, and the gate rattles and sounds like a car crash, very loud. We also found the frying pans and kitchen supplies very cheap. Bring your favourite pans from home next time. If we go back, we would rent closer to the beach or even on the beach where you don't have to deal with a neighbourhood, such as goats and noises.

We liked our rental unit very much The only thing we found was that when we went to the beach we had know where where we could put our chairs because the beach was taken up by all the all inclusive resorts. We will come back for sure, but we will rent beach front.

Loved The Beach - This unit is disappointing

ELLEN AND ANNY - The Agency

I want to give a rave review for Ellen and Anny as the rental agents. Ellen was excellent at being responsive to our emails. Anny met us at the unit and went through everything we needed to know. Any questions we emailed her with were returned quickly and she was amazingly helpful! She even got us coffee filters, which you might want to bring, as we could not find any in the stores. I give them 5 stars and would rent from them again!

The Complex

The complex is clean, well maintained, and safe. The security (especially Francis) would greet you with a smile and was available to help with carrying luggage, water, etc up the three flights. It is at least a 10 minute walk to the beach, the street is littered with garbage and I wouldn't want to walk it alone or at night. We did once, but I am a fraidy cat, and was nervous as there are no lights. There is construction next door and it is quite noisy with a loud gate, dog fights at night and construction workers. We didn't want to close the windows at night, but were forced to some nights. The pool and grounds were lovely, yet only two chair for 18 units.

THe UNIT

The unit is shabby, not well maintained or stocked. The two pans were barely usable and the one handle was so wobbly we wish we had a screwdriver to fix it. We had to buy bowls for cereal. It is clear that there has been no money invested in this unit, the couch was stained and chewed up by termites. Although, the unit was very clean and had no "dirty" bugs. Ants are anywhere you go, so that was not upsetting. The bed was very very firm and the linens and towels poor. There were no wash clothes. They did not even have salt and pepper. They did have a bottle of water waiting for us which was very appreciated. The second BR had twins that can not be put together, so not suitable for a couple.

CONCLUSION:

We are going back to this area but will find a unit that has beach front becaus if you don't, you can only sit in restaurant beach chairs, and only if you order something. We felt like orphans on the beach. Ellen has units in a beach side facility, which, although more expensive, we feel well worth the extra money. Yet, if you are on a budget, don't mind walking, aren't expecting luxury, bring a washcloth, salt, and pepper, and don't mind some noise.... This is a nice complex for the dollar.

6 weeks of relaxation

This was our 2nd year staying at Arenas de Bavaro. We have stayed in 2 different condos and both were very nice. The condo we had this year was on the 3rd floor, so we had a private roof deck, (very cool)! The condo was well equipped for cooking and daily life. Furniture was attractive and the place has a general feel of quality.

Scott Medina set up our rental and is professional and always helpful with advice and answering any questions.

We stayed for 6 weeks and everyday was a treat. We enjoy simple things (beach time, walking, reading at the ocean side, meeting new people, and of course a little bar/restaurant time). We would recommend this complex to anyone without reservation.

Our favorite Restaurants (All within walking distance):

1. La Patisserie (little bakery-wifi- good coffee and breakfast goodies)

2. Palma Sands (nice place right on ocean for a beer and a snack).

3. The Greek (just a few feet from Palma Sands and good for any meal--good prices.)

4. Hurrican Cafe (eccletic beach dining with excellent quality and a cool atmosphere).

5. Danny's Sports Bar (opens at 5:00 PM--cold beer and burgers--and other stuff--the owners are very personable and the atmosphere is very relaxing).

6. Aqua Beach Club (this is a 40 minute walk along the beach, but the beer is cheap and you can get a big padded lounge chair and sit all day if you want.

7. There are more but I just hit our favorites.

We also went on a ZIP LINE adventure--very exciting and well run. The trip to the Zips was inland and on many back roads--very interesting. We are 58 and had no trouble with the adventure.

We will be back!!!

We loved it so much that...

we kept coming back, and eventually bought our very own place. We've traveled extensively, and always dreamed of finding a place somewhere we considered paradise. Hawaii was too far and expensive, Europe was also far and seasonal, and in Mexico (and most of the Caribbean) you can't own land on the coast. No matter where we went there was always a reason not to go back. Punta Cana offered us great weather 24/7/365 days a year, affordable, love the rich culture, but most importantly unbeatable beaches. So if you are looking for unsurpassed natural beauty, Punta Cana is your vacation spot. Palm tree lined white sandy beaches that when you pick up the sand it's as fine as flour. Now that I've told you about why we picked Punta Cana, let me tell you about why we settled on Arenas de Bavaro and of course Scott Medina. Arenas de Bavaro's location couldn't be better. You're a five minute walk to the most spectacular beaches in all of Punta Cana. This is why most of the resorts chose this spot, for that very same reason. It also still possesses its own Dominican flavor with the little town of El Corticito steps from that beach. The local restaurants are great too. Arenas de Bavaro's accommodations are so comfortable that you'll feel right at home. The grounds and pools are immaculately kept, and the 24 hour security is helpful and friendly. Also, convenient parking right outside your condo. Scott's also been instrumental in why we ultimately chose to purchase here. He's attentive, helpful, resourceful and very knowledgeable about the local real-estate market in Punta Cana. He's helped us through the whole process and now continues by managing our apartment rentals for us. It's been five years and we've never had a moment of regret. It's been nothing short of our little bit of Paradise, which we return every year at least 2-3 times. We absolutely love it!!! We hope you will too. The Post Family
