A romantic rustic village house of much charm, with well-equipped facilities, and panoramic views across olive groves cascading down towards the Mediterranean. There is one large comfortable beamed living room with working fireplace, satellite television with access to European and UK TV channels, a selection of DVD's plus a compact Hi-Fi system. The bathroom uniquely incorporates a large rock stretching the full length of it. The rustic kitchen is particularly characterful with its arching shapes and curves. The sunny terrace has beautiful views towards the Mediterranean and is equipped with comfortable seating. The local picturesque village is accessible by foot, with its winding river and tumbling houses, containing a small selection of restaurants, shops and bank. The beach is a 10 minute drive away and close to the bustling twin seaside towns of Imperia. The location provides everything for a relaxing holiday and superb access to the Ligurian Riviera and Cote d'Azur.

The property is located seven kilometres from the coast in the village of Isolalunga - a satellite of the larger village of Dolcedo. There is good access and parking. Shops and restaurants are in easy reach. The beach and seaside towns of Imperia are 10 minutes drive. The location provides excellent access to the Ligurian Riviera and towns such as Bordighera, San Remo and Alassio, and across the border to France and the celebrated Cote d'Azur of Monte Carlo, Nice and Antibes. The Ligurian Riviera with its bougainvillea clad hilltop villages and postcard seaside towns is a fascinating and historic area to explore, whether walking or driving or engaging in recreational activities such as cycling, skiing, riding or golfing. The regional food and wine is excellent and good value, particularly the many varied dishes of traditional Ligurian cuisine. The airports of Nice and Genoa are just over an hour's drive away, and also offer their own enjoyable city and surrounding excursions.

Additional information about rental rates

  • The rental rate is reduced to 680 Euros a week if your stay is for a minimum of two weeks.
    Bathroom towels and bed linen are included in the rental rate as well as cleaning both before and after your stay.
    During the winter months fuel costs (electricity/gas) & firewood are also included in the rental rate
    (which remains the same throughout the year).
    On arrival guests are provided with a complimentary welcome pack of local wine, milk, water, bread, pasta, pesto, coffee and essential toiletries.
    If you require a change of linen half way through your stay this can be arranged if booked in advance for a
    charge of 30 Euros. If you require cleaning as well then a total charge of 70 Euros is payable locally on arrival.
    If there are any problems assistance and support will be available.
    A security deposit of 300 Euros is payable at the time of your booking & is returned to you after your stay.
    The full rental payment becomes payable one calendar month before your arrival.
  • Please provide your own beach/bathing towels.

I am a big fan of this house. It combines the original look and feel of an old village house, with all modern comfort. The kitchen is fantastic, the sitting room has everything you need and more, but the best part of the house must be the roof terras with views of the valley including a little bit of sea. And it is perfectly situated, you can enjoy the tranquility of the countryside, but beaches and the action of the Ligurian riviera are only 10 minutes away (so your kids are happy too).

This genuine Italian house was perfect for our holiday: it was close enough to visit easily Italian and French riviera and sights but you could get to your own peaceful mountain atmosphere in the evenings.

We loved the simple interior decoration of the house and have lots of fun cooking Italian food in the country kitchen.

The property was clean and well-mainted. We were helped to get started by a local woman.

The village is very romantic and pleases certainly friends of Italy. Excellent homecooked and gourmet food is served in all the restaurants nearby.

We would very warmly recommend this house to anyone who is fond of Italy´s countryside.

I could not believe how beautiful the house was and the views from the top. I loved the people in the village they made us so welcome I have booked again next year for three weeks and am looking forward to it as all we have had in I reland is rain since I returned. Margaret

The owner of the house responds quickly to every question. The description he provides how to get there is detailed. He sends further information about the house, the village and whereabouts, the places to dine and beaches to go - very carefully put together. There are even more helpful details in a folder in the house. The equipment of the house was such as described on this internet page - and everything was well in function. Don't bother to bring a lot of books and films - there are many of them in English and German in the house. The DVDs are in English - nice films of intellectual quality for the whole family. You can also leave your hiking boots at home if you intend to go in August (it is too warm to hike) - but it is important to pack what you need for the beach.
The interior decoration and furnishings of the house are gorgeous. Very stylish but nevertheless cosy and welcoming. Our daughter liked to play with the cats outside. And our son went for an extra portion of icecream down in the village every evening... We very much recommend this house for a stay in this region. And to get a good picture of the region you can read the book Extra Virgin by Annie Hawes. The title in German is Die Oliven von San Pietro. It is about two English ladies who happen to buy a cottage in the olive hills and suddenly lead an adventurous life...
