Fall in Sundance is simply spectacular! And this home provided that "cabin" feel we were looking for, but with all the modern conveniences.
The layout of this home would be wonderful with a large group as there are many levels and good separation when you want it, while the two spacious living and family room areas provide ample room for when you would want to all be together. We were a family of 5 and so we had plenty of room to spread out. You really could have two families easily stay there comfortably. We ended up not sleeping in the upstairs master suite and instead slept in one of the downstairs queen bedrooms as they were closer to the children's bunk room. So just an FYI for families with young children - the master is on the top level, while the remaining bedrooms are two-three floors below (there are 4 levels to the home). This wasnt a problem though, as all the rooms were lovely and the beds were high quality and very comfortable.
The large living room and dining room with towering stone fireplace were beautiful and there were plenty of windows to enjoy the gorgeous scenery outside. There were two decks for relaxing on with views of the ski hill and Timp. The family room area downstairs was great for the kids to hang out in; stocked with plenty of books and games. Our only real suggestion to make the experience there better, and the reason I give 4 instead of 5 stars, would be to have full satellite. We were able to get a few local channels, but that was it. And the two TV's were on the same satellite connection, so you could only watch one program at a time. Of course, you dont go to Sundance to watch TV, but for the kids after a long day of doing other things, it was a bit of an annoyance not to have it. The kitchen was well stocked, and even though most of the appliances were a bit dated they all worked fine. We loved the location too, as it was a bit off Timphaven drive and so more private.
This home just a cozy feel about it and we loved it! We would definitely return again.
