This spacious apartment is the epitome of both quintessential and modern Brooklyn living. It is located in the culturally diverse and historic Stuyvestant Heights area on a landmarked block. The homes on this quiet, tree lined street boast anterior gardens displaying rose bushes, hydrangea and other plants that flourish in the Northeast. The apartment is situated on the third floor of a nearly 150 year old renovated brownstone. Two skylights add to the open and spacious floor plan, saturating the space with natural light. The kitchen has stainless steel appliances and is equipped for cooking. The living room and bedroom have separate closets and entry doors for privacy and convenience during your stay. The bedroom is spacious and has a gently sloping ceiling, therefore it is recommended that guests over 6'2' use the sofa bed. The mid century furniture was carefully chosen to present a clean, unique environment. Paintings and photos in the space were made by local artists.
OWNER OCCUPIED : This is as close to a bed and breakfast as you can get without the added cost. Unlike most vacation rentals, the owner lives in the building. Check in/out at any hour is never a problem. A New Yorker is downstairs, at your disposal for tourist information and any questions that may arise during your stay. This is a non smoking building.
PLEASE NOTE: The apartment is on the third floor so you will be walking up the stoop (stairs leading into the house, pictured below) and then two flights of stairs inside. There is NO elevator so pack accordingly.
**If the apartment is booked during your vacation see my other rental listing #917430 (same location)**
I work in Brooklyn real estate and I enjoy getting to know people from all over the world. I feel fortunate to be able to share my beautiful home & neighborhood with my guests. I particularly love that my daughter Ruby, at age 3, is able to meet so many interesting people. She gets very excited when new guests arrive and often presents them with a drawling or shows them a new dance she has learned.
Owner/Manager purchased this townhome in 2009
As Southern transplants, my husband & I knew we wanted to make our home in a neighborhood with a strong sense of community, an interesting history and a culturally diverse population. Our home was built in 1864, it is located on one of the loveliest blocks in the area. Inside the apartment you will find unique furnishings I've collected over the years and photos given to me by friends in the NYC artist community.
A trip to New York should be pleasantly unforgettable. With my guidance, I can save my guests time, money and I hope make the experience less intimidating. Since I live in the building traveling stress is decreased - I personally welcome my guests upon arrival and make myself available for any questions.
We've had a really great stay in NY and who knows, we might visit again someday. It is a great place you have here!
Nice, clean and charming, neighborhood just fine. The owner is extremely kind and helpful. No washing machine in the apartment. Things to improve: internet coverage, is weak in the social area
Our son lives in Brooklyn and we stayed at the apartment for my son's wedding. We know the neighborhood and knew this was an ideal location for us. The apartment was everything we wanted and true to the description and air conditioned as a bonus. I would highly recommend Ashley 's place-Clean, quiet, well equipped, comfortable and a great location. Bed Sty is a great
area. Ashley was a lovely host and even recommended a car mechanic! Stay here if you want Brooklyn and easy access to Manhattan.
The neighborhood was fairly quiet and maintained with scheduled street cleanings. The subway was a quick stroll through a small park that we felt safe enough to walk through late at night. The apartment was a good fit for us and our two girls - a nice alternative to a Manhattan hotel. We even got the run down on the local hidden gems for leisure and dining.
I felt at home for 11 days in this immaculate and beautifully maintained apartment. The bedroom was a fantastic size and the kitchen was well equipped for my needs. The subway was less than a 5 minute walk and made this location fantastic for catching the A or C train to downtown Brooklyn or Manhattan. I would encourage travellers to visit the New York Transit Museum. It is a delightful attraction and further increased my appreciation of the MTA. There were plenty of places within walking distance to eat and shop for groceries, and the area was quiet, safe and filled with friendly neighbours.
The host was gracious and helpful throughout my wonderful stay in Brooklyn. I would recommend this property to anyone who wanted to live in a space created by a remarkable woman! If I could, I would give this property and the owner, 10 stars!!! Thank you Season, for your kindness and opening your home to world travellers. I wish you continuous success. Be well.
My husband, our one year old and myself just came back from a stay in this apartment, and we had a great stay! It was super clean, nicely decorated and fully stocked with everything we needed. Season was the perfect host, from setting up a crib and baby chair to ordering us a taxi (as we had no phone). The subway was an easy walk away and the neighbourhood had some nice cafes, bars and restaurants. Would definitely recommend to stay here to any of my friends!
Located in the historic Stuyvesant Heights section of Bedford Stuyvesant, on one of the most coveted blocks in the area, the apartment is surrounded by well kept brownstones and two beautiful churches. Bed Stuy is centrally located, bordering other popular Brooklyn neighborhoods such as Williamsburg, Clinton Hill, Prospect Heights, and Bushwick. Travel throughout the five boroughs is very fast with the A express or C local trains, just 2.5 blocks from your vacation home. Lower Manhattan, Prospect Park, Brooklyn Museum & Botanical Gardens are all about 20 minutes of train travel. Times Square is 35 minutes away and multiple beaches can be reached within 45 minutes. Choose the bus (at the corner) or a train for a jaunt to Williamsburg, Greenpoint and Bushwick points of interest. Within three blocks of the apartment there are wonderful restaurants like Peaches & Saraghina, laundromats, coffee shops, grocery stores, a wine bar, a bike shop, a library, parks and playgrounds.
