Born and raised in Maine. Have lived most of my life in Maine but I have travelled to over 50 countries --- I know what it means to create a quite, relaxing vacation home for all to enjoy. I hope you get the chance to experience our wonderful spot.
Owner purchased this house in 2009
Fabulous 4 season location -- tons of things to do for people of all ages/interests. North Conway, NH is only 20 minutes and is a great base for many activities.
We recently stayed at this home in mid October. It was beyond anything we had imagined it to be, beautiful, spacious yet cozy at the same time. And it was immaculate, felt like a new home. We brought along some toys for the kids but it wasn't necessary since there were plenty of toys, games, books, and videos for the kids to choose from. There was also a kayak that we were able to use down at the lake. The location of this house on a quiet mountain road gave us enough privacy yet we didn't feel completely isolated since there are a few other homes in the area. Whether you'd like to visit Portland or the coastal areas of Maine or if you'd like to visit any of New Hampshires famous tourist attractions, which we did, they are all an easy, scenic drive away, so it was a great base for our day trips and great to come home to relax after a full day of fun. The homeowner and property manager were both friendly and eager to make sure that we had everything we needed in order to enjoy our stay, so thank you Lance and Raina! Now that I'm back home I truly miss sitting on the back deck with a coffee, smelling the crisp mountain air, and watching the sunrise over Mt. Washington and the breathtaking White Mountain range. We hope we can return one day and experience all that again!
Stayed for the weekend with my book club consisting of 10 adult females. We had a great time being able to just relax and be away from the everyday city life. The fact that we were not too far from things to do was great but also being able to have the privacy of being set away from it made it that much enjoyable. The amount of space was perfect and the many bathrooms/ showers made it possible for every to have their privacy when wanted but the ample seating in the common area made it easy for us to come together as a group when needed/ wanted. Being able to relax on the deck while enjoying the view was breathtaking.
I would DEFINITELY stay again !!!!
So nice to get away and not stay in a hotel!! Beautiful home, spacious living space, a kitchen and dining room that's fits the big family!! Beautiful views of the White Mountains in New Hampshire, great sunsets!! Right in the heart of tons of lakes, no need for a pool. Needs we're addressed by the caretaker when necessary. Plenty of hot shower water when needed. Easy transaction. Hope to stay again, perhaps in the winter.
This house was the perfect combination of space and luxury for our winter weekend stay with 3 families.
The 3 levels with multiple bedrooms and bathrooms provided the space to spread out. The fully stocked spacious kitchen, dining area, and living area provided the open area to bring us all together. We enjoyed the fabulous views through the broad expanses of windows while we gathered at the couches around the warm fireplace.
The house is perfect for bringing families together. The location was easy to reach and positioned us for incredibly convenient skiing at Shawnee Peak. The mountain landscape compelled everyone to get outside and become active. And then the beautiful house collected us all back inside. The kitchen had lots of space and connected to the rest of the living area so that we could all gather, cook, eat, and talk together.
We would definitely like to return to this wonderful spot.
This was our third stay here, and it's always enjoyable. Always scrupulously clean, the ample wood, comfy furniture, radiant heat and abundant windows make this home both literally and figuratively warm and cozy.
This time, the weather was conducive to skiing, and we realized how lucky we were to be just three miles from Shawnee Peak. WIthout a long drive preceding a day of skiing, you can maximize the skiing itself, then be sprawled in front of the fire with a good book minutes after you've called it quits for the day.
The property managers provide a thorough checklist which simplifies departure, and, thoughtfully, have detailed instructions on what to do with both trash and recycling. It's very nice to not have to lug all our recycling home with us because there no provision for it. Their pre-arrival information email was similarly thorough, making a trip into town for something forgotten far less likely; this is a very good thing, because once you're settled in here, you just won't want to leave for something as mundane as errands.
If you visit, bring games, books, magazines, and your camera. Leave the pesky electronics at home; there's no internet, and that's a BIG plus. This place is all about getting away from it all, and doing so opulently.
You have a gorgeous home in the perfect location--we wished we lived here full time! Your views of Mt. Washington and the Presidential range are truly amazing. The floor plan made it so easy for our 3 families to socialize and sleep comfortably. The kitchen had everything we need to cook all our meals. We loved relaxing by the fire after a day of skiing at Shawnee Peak and its so close. We also had fun XC skiing at Five Fields Farm. Raina was very helpful, too. Thank you for sharing your beautiful home with us!
