This 2nd (top) floor apartment boasts superb views over Mahon harbour and is set in the beautiful gardens of La Gardenia, Sol del Este. The 2 balconies at the back overlook Mahon harbour & garden while the balcony at the front overlooks the communal pool & beautiful gardens. The airy living space allows you to relax when indoors and take in the fantastic views on offer. There are 2 bedrooms - 1 double en suite (king size bed) with balcony & 1 twin with balcony, a separate bathroom, kitchen/diner with dual aspect, the living room with Satellite TV/DVD, CD player with balcony overlooking the communal pool. La Gardenia is about 15 minutes from Mahon Airport (however not in flight path - so you never hear any airplanes!) and has 2 restaurant/bars, supermarket, small cove with sun bathing areas. The pretty harbour of Calas Fonts is a 5 minute walk & it has lots of excellent restaurants, bars, shops & a great street market at night. Es Castell (also 5 Mins) has banks, bars, restaurants, shop

perfect holiday base

just come back from a lovely holiday. the apartment is perfectly located, in excellent condition and provided us with everything we needed for our holiday. We loved the view from the balcony and enjoyed some fabulous weather! we will definitely be returning and would recommend 40 La Gardenia to anyone looking for a relaxing holiday.

Magical Menorca

Menorca is a very special island with wonderful beaches, beautiful towns and villages with stunning architecture plus superb scenery all around. With this comes a fabulous harbour in Mahon where cruise ships and mega yachts can be seen at close quarters. The apartment is perfectly placed to enjoy all these, Calas Fons has amazing restaurants within walking distance of 'home' . Within the grounds you can relax and enjoy sunbathing, swimming in the pool or the sea and the lovely gardens. Home from home

A brilliant 2 bed apartment surrounded by beautiful well maintained gardens. The pool area was spacious and clean. A very well equipped kitchen enables you to cook at home if you wish although a good selection of restaurants and bars in Calas Fonts and Es Castell approx 10/15 minutes walk away. The local restaurant Villa Alba seems to have closed down but the walk is pleasant anyway. The views from both bedrooms are amazing. The variety of ships and sailing boats passing by the apartment is fantastic. We would love to return to La Gardenia.

A gem of an appartment and a gem of an island

We came to La Gardenia in June for a 2 week holiday, having never been to Menorca before we had no preconception of what island would be like. Well, both the appartment and its location blew us away. The photos of the appartment do not do it justice, especially those of the gardens and the views. The appartment is clean and very well maintained and although not having air condioning the sea breeze kept it nice and cool - even though the temperature reached 35 degrees during our first week!!

To the left on the complex is a small convenience store and just a little past that a great pub / restaurant which has been owned by the same people for over 35years. If you don't want to walk down to Cala Fonts it is a lovely clean and relaxing place to eat.

Es Castell / Cala fonts (harbour) is approx 15mins walk away from the appartment, it is a lovely town with a fabulous small harbour with numerous restaurants and small shops.

Mahon the capital of the island is only a short bus ride away and is well worth at least one visit

We cannot recommend the appartment enough and sincerely hope to return in the non too distant future

Lovely!

The apartments at La Gardenia are quite small/compact however this apartment has a large kitchen diner with a high ceiling and lovely outlook which creates a feeling a space. The top floor also means the views are great and there is a lovely breeze when you open the doors. The bedrooms are quite small but this is more than compensated for with the French doors leading out to the balconies with views to the sea. Watching the sunrise from your bedroom balcony is hard to beat.

The gardens at la gardenia are beautifully kept as is the pool area.

There is the choice of being at the front by the pool or at the the rear of the apartment in the gardens looking out to the sea.

The only changes I would make would be more larger bath towels for us girls who like to wrap their hair up in a towel after a shower.

But having the washing machine was great so we washed the apt towels regularly and it also meant we could travel with hand luggage only.

Apartment No. 40 La Gardenia is situated in Sol del Este just a five minute walk from Calas Fonts & Es Castell. It is a 10 minute drive from Menorca capital Mahon & 10 minute drive from Mahon airport. Calas Fonts & Mahon have fantastic restaurants to suit all tastes. Mahon also has fantastic shops from designer to high street. It is also a very child friendly island. Mahon harbour is the 2nd largest natural harbour in the world so there is a constant flow of boats from powerboats, yachts, cruisers including cruise liners which dock with ease in Mahon (all sail past La Gardenia). Buses, Taxis & car hire are very reasonable on the island. Minorca is only 9 miles wide & 32 miles long so it is easy to explore the diverse attractions from beautiful sandy beaches to prehistoric archaeological sites. It is one of the most spectacular diving locations in the med. The island is a Mecca for families and without the pubs & clubs of other islands it is safe & welcoming whatever your age.

Notes:
No. 40 is a 2nd floor apartment and therefore accessed by steps, please consider this when booking. Once up there the views are superb though! Children are welcome (we have two young boys ourselves) and cots; high chairs etc. can be arranged. The outdoor communal pool is maintained regularly along with the beautiful gardens. Sun loungers are provided for sitting around the pool area or gardens. A barbecue is provided and many apartments make use of the beautiful views by setting up the barbecue and eating al fresco in the gardens in the evening time.
