MODERN LODGE WITH HOT TUB AND EXCELLENT VIEWS NEAR ST ANDREWS

We have just returned from a lovely week’s break at Balmeadowside (Woodpecker Lodge). This is an excellent location – perfect for relaxing and enjoying the views, but equally good if you want to explore; very central with the towns of Cupar and St Andrews 10 and 20 minutes’ drive respectively.

The lodge was of an excellent standard, pleasantly spacious and offered beautiful views and gave a real feeling of tranquillity and privacy. The outdoor space was particularly welcome with generous decking and 2 sets of double doors, a high quality dining table and chairs and wonderful hot tub. The location of the hot tub was very private and we were not interrupted at any point during our stay. The management could not be faulted – on hand should we have needed them, but afforded total privacy if we did not.

The level of cleanliness was exceptional and everything was spotlessly clean. Katy, the housekeeper, worked very hard at keeping everything (including the Hot Tub) immaculate. The bedrooms were spacious with wonderful comfortable beds and we appreciated the second television in the master bedroom. The bathrooms were of a very high standard with excellent showers.

We would have appreciated a full-sized fridge and full-sized freezer (or fridge-freezer). A small under counter fridge is provided with a freezer compartment on top, and there is a mini worktop freezer for shared use between the 7 lodges, but we did not find this adequate for the self-catering needs of a family of 4. We were disappointed not to have Wi Fi. [I understand the original 4 lodges have good internet access (I believe Wi Fi is coming to the newer lodges soon)], so it would be best to check if this is an issue for you.

All in all, excellent, spacious accommodation that is very well maintained and managed and spotlessly clean in a perfect setting.

We stayed in this lodge in August 2010 and were very impressed, the lodge was clean, supplied with all you needed ( washing liquid, sponges and teatowels, things that Haven dont supply) and very spaceous.The hot tub was lovely and cleaned before we arrived. Its very peaceful and the family that look after the lodges are very friendly and my children spent most of the time playing with there children in there garden.

Very relaxing and pretty place would definately return.

This is a superb property, very well kitted out, spotlessly clean with everything you could possibly need. The pictures on this web site do not do it justice, it is far more spacious than it appears. Large living area with two spacious bed rooms. We went for one of the lodges equipped with a Hot Tub which was perfect after a day touring.

All in all a beautiful property situated on a working farm, very relaxing and ideally situated with easy access to St Andrews, Perth and Dundee.

A very relaxing short break, I would have no hesitation in recommending this property.
