Just Perfect

  • 5 of 5

This cottage was perfect.

We stayed during the snowmobiling season and this place had everything we needed and more. We had no complaints about the cottage and dealing with the owner was so easy.

Close to a small gas station, that had a restaurant there also, and not far from the main town for all your other needs ( groceries, restaurants, shopping, gas stations).

We had an absolute awesome time and plan on returning next year.

Great Place! Great Location!

  • 5 of 5

I met my Dad and Brother at this vacation rental for a long weekend of fishing. The place was easy to find and very close to the Marina/Bait Shop/Pub/Gas Station. There is plenty of room to park numerous vehicles and trailers. The place was very well kept and fully stocked with the essentials (TP, paper towels, clean sheets and towels, cooking supplies, etc...). All of the utilities were in good working condition. The place has a lot of really cool decorations and is very comfortable.

The Cedar River is directly across the road (CR 551). There is also a secluded state park/campground about 5.5 miles up the river. My Dad and I dumped the canoe in at the campground and paddled/fished back to the house. This is a great place to visit/stay if you are looking for serenity and tranquility. The surrounding area is also a great fishery (Salmon, Walleye, Bass, and Pike).

The owner made the renting experience very simple and easy. I would highly recommend this place and we will definitely return for another stay!

Will be back!

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I stayed here for our 10th anniversary and it was just perfect! We like the secluded and quiet setting, but were close to a small store/gas station, and restaurant. The cottage had all the amenities and then some! We caught fish in the river, had a fire out back, and enjoyed grilling! Can't wait to plan our next stay!

5 year returning renter

Every August we travel to the UP (family live there). We enjoy this place. Clean and well maintained. Beautiful river access. My family love to fish and crayfish hunt right off the shore. We have bonfires at night and enjoy the beautiful sunset/ rises on the river. Very peaceful and plenty to do 10 mins. from the little town of Cedar River and 25 mins from Escanaba. We love to swim at fox park while there. The water is so clear and beautiful with nice sandy beaches. Very relaxing and yet lots to see and do.

Room to Roam

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I enjoyed staying at this cottage. Homey and clean with comfortable accommodations and also nicely decorated. Open-concept kitchen/living room, so it was nice and roomy. We were happy to have A/C. Lots of dishes and kitchen utensils. Could use a few more coffee mugs. Nice view of the river from the kitchen dining table as well as from the large front deck where I enjoyed my morning coffee. Nice quiet area and gotta love the rooster in the neighborhood! The cottage sits on a large piece of property, and it is nice to have room to roam! Enjoyed using the fire pit at the back of the property. We did see a couple of fishing boats on the river. ATV trails nearby. Took a nice drive one day up to Marquette and over to Munising where we took the Pictured Rocks boat tour, which was really nice, and checked out Garden Bay Winery where I got some awesome peach and honey wine! Fox Park Beach a few miles up the highway is a nice place to stick your toes in the sand and view the bay. The gas station/convenience store is a couple miles away and handy if you need something. It also looks like they serve a good breakfast. The Lighthouse Pub nearby has good food. If you are looking to get away from it all or looking for a place near outdoor recreational activities, this cottage would be great...summer or winter.

Quiet and Peaceful

  • 5 of 5

We loved having coffee out on the porch in the morning and listening to the millions of birds and again at night with a glass of wine and all the lightening bugs. We canoed down the beautiful river every morning. Most beautiful, peaceful place I have ever rented. Loved, loved loved it. Hope to get there again. One of the most beautiful rivers I have ver seen. Really don't want to share this wonderful place with others. Would rather keep this a secret for myself. Place was nice, clean and well maintained. however, there were no glasses or wine glasses nor soup bowls. Nice to have the washer/dryer while on vacation.
