My husband and I stayed for a week in an oceanfront villa on the Marazul Dive Resort on Curaçao. The villa itself was lovely and comfortable. Clearly, the owners put in some effort to add color and just the right touches to make the villa a nice place to be. I liked the size of the shower, the kitchen where we could cook some of our own meals, and the living/dining area where we could relax between our fun excursions to the beach, snorkeling, the citnda he cave tour, and local restaurants. The view from our villa was one of the best features of all-- breathtaking. The sunsets were spectacular! The pool on the resort right near our villa was delightful. We loved experiencing the local culture and rugged beauty of the island complete with goats, iguanas, and donkeys wandering around the island. We even bought fresh fish from local fisherman. We will visit Curaçao again and stay at Marazul.

The setting is beautiful. The other residents/renters are very friendly and helpful. Tommi, the manager, is first rate. The only negative is the relatively remote location. Also, bug repellant is mandatory after 7:00p.m. Condo was clean and as represented on the VRBO description.
Recommended for:  Age 55+, Sightseeing, Families with Young Children, Romantic Getaway

Beautiful ocean front townhouse

The apartment and surrounding property were beautiful. The apartment was well supplied with necessities for cooking and with beach and snorkeling gear. The pool was just outside the front door and well kept. My only concern was that the property managers were never in their office. It would have been very helpful to have them available to orient us to the area and to explain how some of the equipment worked. We had to ask other guests how to exit the front gate when the code didn't work and to find out about nearby restaurants and grocery stores.
Our favorite restaurant was Sol Food. The owner developed a packet of information on local sites and activities which was very helpful. The food there was good and reasonably priced.
I would recommend this property but caution that renters must be somewhat independent with navigating in an unfamiliar area. A car is a necessity unless you only want to hang out at the pool or walk to nearby beaches and restaurants.

Amazing! Amazing! Amazing

We booked this appartment because we did not want to be near High rise Hotels, well we are not disappointed!
This place is just amazing, the resort is located in the North of the island and away from everything!
You really get a feel of the island.
You can go snorkeling just outside the apprtment, sip a drink by the pool and enjoy a BBQ while watching the sunset.
It is very quiet and relaxing!
The appartment was very comfortable for a couple and a 6 year old child and very clean. It had everything we needed.
I would recommend to do your food shopping as soon as you arrive if you do not want to spend too much time on the road.
Hopefully we will be back|

Beautiful Views/Peaceful and Quiet

We just spent 10 days resting and relaxing on Curacao! The resort complex was gated and nice. Well maintained in a remote part of the island, this can be great for people who really want to get away from it all, which we did!
Thanks Gretta for providing us with the driving directions (which thankfully I printed)! Curacao doesn't like to post street signs, which made our trek out to Marazul in the dark, a wee bit confusing once left the airport and figured out which road was which.
We really appreciated the fully stocked kitchen, we cooked in and BBQ'd everynight (eating out gets expensive on the islands) . We left behind about 20lbs of charcoal and a fancy wine bottle opener since that was missing.
Tommi and Uli were extremely helpful to us and gave us great insight to the Curacao drivers, the biggest supermarket -Mangusa Hypermarket on CoracasaWeg and where NOT to eat!
We snorkeled off the backstairs everyday , took a cruise from GoWestDiving (around the corner) and a trip to Klein Curacao. All in all a great vacation.
My only wish was that the windows had screens on them. The breezes were so nice and I would have used less A/C and enjoyed the cross-breezes more if I could have opened the windows.
Those mosquitos were aweful (still scratching those bites I got).
If you want to get away from it all, then Westpunt is the place to be!!!
