Solar heated pool with villa attached.

Our family of 5 spent 2 weeks in Doral Woods at Easter 2009. This villa was extremely easy to find following the directions sent to us. The accommodation was precisely as described and suited our requirements perfectly. The Master suite was huge with a walk-in wardrobe and very large bathroom with separate shower (individually lit - what a treat). The second bedroom with en-suite was only used by our son and daughter-in-law for a 5 night visit, as the 2 week treat was for our 3 granddaughters to be taken to the theme parks every other day and for my husband and I to have a relaxing day inbetween. The children's bedrooms were perfectly adequate and not too childish - something our oldest granddaughter (16) excluded several properties for. There were certainly plenty of cooking/dining items provided and even games/cards for the odd spell of bad weather. We were delighted with the number of towels (both bathroom and pool) provided and the youngest in our party (8) was overjoyed with the pool toys/buoyancy aids in the garage. The wild life was interesting, especially watching black snakes slithering by in the undergrowth. Our son remarked on the lack of flies/wasps/mosquitoes around the outdoor eating area until I pointed out that we were actually inside our own cage, which helped a lot. But the best thing of all for me was the solar heated pool. We did have some very unusual inclement weather but the pool was always warm - and it didn't cost us a bean! The children even swam in the rain. Disney was 30 to 45 mins away depending on traffic and Highway 192, where so many restaurants were, was 20 to 30 mins, by car. We ate at several different diners. Ruby Tuesdays was a good basic American Diner (with Denny's being at the lower end of the scale), Smokey Bones was excellent for ribs and Pacino's was our favourite Italian. Don't be put off by the queue's at the entrance. If they say a table will be 30 mins it is usually 20. Just have a drink at the bar and they will seat you very quickly. Yes the portions are huge - we often shared. We chose from the 'Over 55' menus, because we could - they are smaller portions, and the kids menus are an absolute bargain for kids up to age 9. They usually have a starter, a main course and a dessert for around $6, and either the starter or the dessert will be fruit. All in all we thoroughly enjoyed our stay, but being in our sixties we could have done with a holiday on our return! The theme parks are exhausting.
Owner's Response: Thank you very much Linda for your comprehensive review on our holiday villa. As owners it is very rewarding to receive positive comments about our lovely villa. As well as positive comments we also welcome negative comments which allows us to put things right if they are not as they should be. We thank Linda and family for looking after our Poinciana Paradise during their stay and should they wish to revisit us in the future they would be more than welcome into our second home. Thank you again.
