Lovely Place, Lovely People

My friend and I just returned from a lovely week at The Silver Sands hotel--renting Chris's two-bedroom suite. At first we were a little taken aback because the room is right on the deck/pool and near the bar...but the place is very quiet and very mellow, so noise was never a problem. The beach is sublime, kite surfing turns out to be a great spectator sport, the food is excellent, and not too pricey, and the service was truly great, top to bottom. Clean rooms, comfortable beds, lots of towels, and pillows, DVDs to borrow, as well as a laptop if you need to check email. And Carol the hotel cat was our true friend. Sweet and beloved. Here's the only downside: The area around the place is a little rundown, but we had no problem walking to the little grocery story a few blocks away. No fruit, only snacks and water, but that's the only thing that keeps me from giving the whole experience 5 starts.
