Oistins Area:
Oistins is an old fishing area located next to Silver Sands on the south coast of the island home to some of the islands best beaches. From hear it is easy to get into the capital Bridgetown by bus or taxi along the coast road with breathtaking views of the clear blue seas and white pink sandy beaches. The museum of Barbados is en route to the centre. There are many other beaches that can be visited from Oistins and this little town is where you will find a choice of resturants and night life within easy reach. A relatively recent tradition has developed for tourists in Oistins to join in with the locals at the Friday night ( and slightly quieter Saturday night) Fish Fry which sees many stalls selling fish meals or local craft all to accompaniment of loud music. The popular St Lawrence Gap is a 10 minute drive or taxi ride, where lively nightlife can be found.
