Our newly renovated farmhouse stands in a one acre plot with not a neighbour in sight. The house is bright, spacious and equipped with all you need to make a great holiday with family or friends. Our lovely pool and terrace are reached by a short flight of steps affording amazing views to the west, east and south, perfect to watch the sunset with a glass of wine. The views of the Pyrenees are panoramic on a clear day. The house newly refurbished is fresh and furnished in a homely way with some lovely pieces of furniture. Truly a home from home.

The house is only 8 mins from Marciac and 15 mins from Mirande each have a weekly market and great public pools with slides for the kids. In Marciac and Tillac there are tennis courts open for a small charge to non-members. You'll be within 5 mins of a great 18 hole golf course the Chateau Pallanne. There are many more in the area so you could make a holiday of the golf alone. Marciac has a Jazz Festival the first two weeks of August. Mirande has a country and western festival the weekend of 14 July. Auch is famous for its cathedral. Pau has a lovely chateau and the beautiful Boulevard des Pyrenees. Toulouse, 'La Ville Rose' is certainly worth a visit - stroll along the Garonne or take a coffee on the Place Capitol. The Pyrenees offer all manner of sport including biking, walking or skiing - only 75 mins away. The Basque Coast is stunning and only 2 hours drive.

Notes: At the front of the house there is a small terrace with a table to seat six, ideal to take breakfast. On the top terrace, by the pool there is a large decked area which is equipped with sunloungers, a large wooden table with eight chairs and a gas bbq. There are plenty of books to read, guide books and maps, games, dvds for adults and children and some children's toys. All provided to help make your holiday more comfortable.

We found this property to be everthing we were looking for.
It was clean well equiped with excellent space and accomodation. You need a car to get around but the location of this property far out weighed any hassle in driving.
We look forward to re-booking next year.

Excellent accommodation in serene setting

This is a spacious and well laid out house for a family and possibly extra guests too. The location offers wonderful views towards the very accessible Pyrenees mountains with San Sebastian in Spain also easily reachable for a day trip. A car is necessary but the lively town of Marciac is not far, nor is the idyllic village of Tillac. There is a good pool and barbeque area - perfect for kids (if not infants) and an excellent collection of books and DVDs (If the kids don't want to swim). Pau airport is not far away if guests need to be met. Good value for a family holiday.

Peace and tranquility

We stayed in the summer of 2008 and had a great time.
With 4 young kids we particularly enjoyed not having to worry about the noise level for neighbours !
Kids had a great time in the pool although with there is no shallow end so non-swimmers have to make do with the full width steps or armbands/parents.
Need a car to get to shops but only a short trip so on balance worth the tranquility.
The house itself was really well equiped and clean and tidy. Nice being in a 'home' rather than a more typical and clinical rental property.
Would certainly recommend to friends looking to stay in the region and will hopfully be back to stay ourselves some time.
