About the House: This is a charming casita with two seperate floors connected by an EXTERIOR staircase, which makes it perfect for two couples who would like to rent together yet have privacy!
A hot water shower and cold water sinks in both bathrooms.

Our caretakers clean the beach daily which is a wonderful luxury and can offer you housekeeping at an afforable price. The beach cleaning of course, is always free.
Due to Mahahual location there can be a lot of debris floating in from around the world and landing on beaches--sadly unoccupied beaches are not cleaned. The beach in front of the house and the house to the south is cleaned daily, we can't take responsibility for the other areas outside of this zone.
The house runs on solar power which means you must leave your high powered appliances at home. (really you MUST not use or bring)

there is no microwave as there is no hurry!
There are fans, (and the fantastic 'Bed-Fans)' but no a/c so a bit of an adventurous spirit helps!
Luckily mother nature provides an almost constant breeze and you will be very comfortable on all but the hottest and stillest of days--and there are not that many!
About the area: Mahahual is a bustling cruise ship port some days of the week, but you would never know that at Casita Dragonfly. Down the coast and away from the cruise ship crowds, you may go an entire week seeing very few people. If you are looking for a true getaway, this is it.
As is the case of most of the houses in the area south of town---The house does not 'party'. The solar panels are depleted by lights left on all night, left on in every room in the house...or stereos that run all night. Casita Dragonfly wants to rest at night---and so do you so you can enjoy every moment of daylight. beautiful sunrises,

About you: If you are looking for an all inclusive resort, a party town, a concierge, this is not the right house.
If you need climate control and a swim up bar, this is not the right house.
If you have a bit of adventure, are conscientious, enjoy wildlife like iguanas, geckos, frogs, birds, fish, and beach dogs---you will love this here.
With all this nature, especially in the summer, remember there are mosquitos and tabano's in the area. always use a repellant. upon booking I supply much more detailed info!
you must also ENJOY the company of dogs. We have two beach dogs- and our caretakers have one--and if you are friendly to them, they will sleep on the porch and bark at anyone who even THINKS to approach the house. They are fickle and easy to win over--share a bit of your food and you are befriended for your stay. They are not beggers though. If you are mean to the dogs, they won't sleep on the porch, they will sleep at the caretakers porch.. In fact if you are mean to dogs--this is not the place for you. We treasure our beach dogs. We treasure the house. Lovers of natures, conservers of natural resourses are welcome.
