Great family vacation in New York

This was a great place to stay. So much nicer than a hotel! It worked out very well for our family of 5, including 2 teenagers. The townhome is spacious and had pretty much everything we needed. The neighborhood was very quiet and seemed safe, and we had no problems at all with unwanted noise. We didn't use a car at all in the city... the subway was nearby (~ 4 blocks) and easy to use. The subway stop is an express stop for the A train, which goes straight into Manhattan. We spent most of our time exploring Manhattan ... museums, Time Square, Central Park, 9/11 Memorial, and a Broadway show. If you're going to be there more than ~4 days or so, buy the unlimited 7-day subway pass. Took the subway straight to the airport when we were done (JFK).

Great week in NYC

Clean property with everything provided for a family stay. The owners were so friendly, and keen to ensure we settled in straight away.

The Pantry coffee store around the corner does a damn fine Americano. You are 5-10 minutes walk from the subway A line, meaning you're in Manhattan in 20 minutes. Also loads to do in Brooklyn.

Only downside is lack of a decent supermarket in Bed-Stuy, but you can go a few stops to High Street (Brooklyn Bridge) and DUMBO to sort that.
Owner's Response: We are glad our guests found the apartment comfortable and our help suitable for their needs. As far as supermarkets are concerned, there are actually several well-stocked small supermarkets located within a one-block radius and a larger one, Foodtown, a mere ten minute walk. We'll definitely add a list of these locations to our information booklet.

Not as clean as you would expect. No electrical outlets in upstairs bathroom. Kitchen stayed hot most of the time. It would have been nice to have a washer and dryer. We had to move our vehicle to the other side of the street on one morning, not something you like to have to worry about when on vacation. Owner very nice but needs a little more attention to the property.
Owner's Response: Townhouse is sorry when vacationers are not fully satisfied. We are a phone call away and address all concerns as soon as possible. We do provide a thorough cleaning after each guest departs and encourage guests to call us if cleaning service has been lax. We will get the contractor to look into the outlet, it's probably covered by new paneling. This year, NYC experienced unseasonably hot weather. We could have provided an additional air conditioner had we known those we had were not sufficient. As far as washers/ dryers, they can be provided at additional cost. Finally,drivers need to know that NYC mandates alternate side of the street parking, so the city can provide street clearning services. We welcome all feedback.

week stay in Brooklyn by some Oklahoma gals!

We had a group of 5 ladies who had little to no experience in NYC. This property was a 15 minute walk to and from the metro. The metro had stairs. The A train gets you to NYC in about 20 minutes. This walk with stairs needs to be considered by anyone considering this rental. The owners are not near, but were very kind to get to needed items to us as soon as possible (within an hour or so). The property was a wonderful experience for our group. But, we were all ladies who had no experience being in a Brooklyn neighborhood. Once we were able to come and go safely to the metro, we relaxed about the differences. We used the nearby corner grocery, but did not eat at any of the local resturants. Would I stay here again? What I have learned is that being close to your destinations is very helpful to making the most of your time. So, I personally would stay closer to Manhatten next time.

Nice surprise in Brooklin

To be honest when we booked the apartment in Brooklin was not sure that it would have been a good choice since we would like to spend the most of the time in Manhattan. But at the end of the period we spent there I can only highlight a series of good remarks. The apartment is delicious, the beds are comfortable and the room big and full of sun light. From the apartment, at 5 minutes walking, is possible to reach the A Subway that can transport in most of the best places in Manhattan, also it is very convenient if you have to reach the JFK airport. The owners of the apartment are very kind and they was very available to solve the very little issues we had (wifi connection). So I would strongly reccomend this solution for a group of 4/6 person that want to visit Manhattan and have some good time also in the Brooklin area - I so much appreciated the friendly persons we meet there around.
