la boulangerie, december 2008

What a charming, idyllic little place, very well equipped with decent material. I guess in Spring the place must look like a house out of a fairy tale. As we were there in december our days were rather short, but we spent our evenings watching TV or put a movie in the DVD player, sitting in a very comfortable coach. The heating is very sufficient to warm up the whole house. Real beds with good matrasses, instead of these awful clicclacs that you find merely in France. A place to re-discover nature, with a crowing rooster and a farmer passing by with horse and cart. Brecey is well situated to discover the region, as well as the landing beaches in Normandy as Mont St.Michel in Bretagne. Dont't forget to treat yourself with the delicious oysters or fruits de mer.
And last but not least : the owners are very honest people and refunded the safety deposit completely the week after we were back home. Also mention the sympathic housekeepers, Tina and Richard who take good care of La Boulangerie and its guests.

Fantastic experience

My girlfriend and I stayed in La Boulangerie in June 2008, and fell in love with the place. This little house is everything advertised and more. We used it as a great base to explore the region. The property is beautiful, and we spent several nights ining 'al fresco' overlooking the fields and enjoying the long spring evenings. We really cannot reccomend this place highly enough.

You love nature - you'll love this place

Heike and Maria Lupburg, Oberpfalz, Germany
Review Submitted: September 16, 2008 Date of Stay: August 2008
We stayed at this lovely little gîte for just one week and we enjoyed it thoroughly: quiet and peaceful, cows grazing by the house, just meadows and fields around - and yet everything you need close by in Brecey. A perfect getaway for two.
We had two dogs with us and as
expected they could not climb the steep stairs to the bedroom. So they slept in the living room which was o.k.for them.
We found nice beaches just half an hour drive away with a beatuiful view to Mont Saint Michel and were happy to watch English TV programs in the evenings.
The service provided by the English housekeepers was just perfect: they helped with every little problem, answered all sorts of questions, gave recommendations.
Not to mention the owners: very charming and caring people. It was a great pleasure to stay at their holiday home.

The perfect refugium for two people

uga Hamburg, Germany
Review Submitted: July 29, 2008 Date of Stay: June 2008
We rent this tiny little house in summer 2008 and we found it perfect for two people. The full equipped kitchen allowed us cooking when we wanted to, the bathroom and shower were very clean and nearly new and the beds had good mattresses, so we didn't got any backache. The english housekeepers were very friendly and immediately helped us, when we had a complaint about broken down garden chairs - they organized a full equipment of new chairs and a table and some grandios relaxing chairs!
The environment of the house is very naturally and quiet - so you need a car for visiting places of interest, but for us it was a great experience just beeing awaked by hearing the cooks shouting in the morning.
Owner's Response: We are very pleased that Ursula and Thomas enjoyed their stay at La Boulangerie and that they found it "perfect for two people". As the gite is in a rural area it is very quiet and peaceful but it is also within easy reach of shops and restaurants as well as many places of interest and beaches. There are a number of farms nearby and so we think they mean 'hearing the cocks crowing in the morning'!

Delightful bijou gite!

Review Submitted: July 8, 2008 Date of Stay: June 2008
My wife and I had a lovely, quiet stay in La Boulangerie. It is in a beautiful rural setting surrounded by orchards and fields. The local town Brecey has all the amenities you could wish for as well as internet access at the library. A great base for exploring this part of Normandy. The small but perfectly formed gite has everything you could wish for.
