We offer 6 comfortable character cottages all owned and carefully maintained by us. We are situated in 3 locations near the castles close to Chenonceaux east of Tours well located for exploring this lovely historic region of France. The cottages are located in villages near the river and vineyards and offer wonderful walks and cycling. Our cottages are well equipped with fully fitted gourmet kitchens, luxious bathrooms, beautifully appointed bedrooms with best quality bedding (we offer a linen service and cleaning). We have large enclosed gardens at Vrigny (3 cottages) and Bourre (2 cottages). Our sixth cottage is located in Francueil village square near the church cafe and shop. We offer one three bedroom cottage, three two bedroom cottages and two one bedroom cottages; baby equipment including cots on request. A holiday in one of our cottages offers you a peaceful break with lots of interesting places to visit, a chance to taste the local wines and excellent restaurants nearby

Romantic cottage for two situated in the orchard at Vrigny close to Chateau de Chenonceau, Amboise and Montrichard in the Loire Valley, with a sunny patio and pretty mezzanine bedroom; two minutes from lovely vineyards walks and from the river Cher, Five minutes walk from village shops in St. George’s sur Cher, wonderfully placed for walking, cycling and generally enjoying the countryside as well as being centrally located for the chateau and vineyards. The Barn is secluded and separated from our two other cottages at Vrigny and is therefore ideal for a couple hoping for a private and romantic holiday. Romantic double bedroom on the mezzanine floor, cot available if required. Living room with a picture window overlooking its own private patio, comfortable armchairs and table and chairs, TV and video, radio/CD player. Well fitted kitchen - washing machine, fridge, electric oven and built in hob and microwave. Nice modern shower room and WC. Under floor heating. Garden furniture BBQ

Our cottages are situated in the heart of the Loire Valley chateau region valley of the kings, so are well placed for visiting the historic castles and towns of Chenonceaux, Chambord, Villandry, Azay-sur-Cher and Chinon and many others as well as the interesting towns on the river Loire including Amboise, Blois, Tours and Saumur. Our region is also famous for its Touraine Wines especially Vouvray, Chinon and Bourgueil. Our local village wines are Gamay and Sauvignon and very good they are too. We are also within a day trip of Sancerrre and Pouilly if you are keen to taste the Loire Valley wines, especially now the Autiroute A85 has been completed.

Prices include heating and light, cooking and water, but not bed linen and towels (available to hire) or terminal cleaning (can be arranged for £50).
  • Linen extra £30 per double bed; cleaning £50.
  • When you have paid for your holiday you will receive a pack with directions, loads of information about the cottage and the region etc.

Notes: We have a range of bicycles for our guests to use at their leisure. They are maintained by the local cycle shop so in good order, We are on the edge of the vineyards and so have lovely walks here and by the river Cher. Vrigny has a large enclosed garden with plenty of garden furniture; there are two large walnut trees and apple trees, plus space to play ball or boules. The Barn is located away from the other cottages so you can enjoy plenty of privacy and quiet.

The Barn is lovely and cosy with a good private patio. The bikes are an added bonus as there are many good attractions within easy reach. A great location and good accommodation. The pre-arrival information we were sent was very informative and detailed - very much appreciated! Thank you!

Owner's Response: The Barn is a lovely conversion, a romantic place for two located near Chateau de Chenonceau in the heart of castle country and the Touraine vineyards. We provide bikes also there are lovely walks. The cottages are our own so we take care they are well looked after and well appointed. We have been letting for nearly twenty years now and enjoy very much hearing that our guests have enjoyed their stay. We look forward to welcoming you to Vrigny or Bourre or our new cottage in Francueil.
