We (2 families) spent our Thanksgiving weekend there - it was just wonderful and very relaxing. Great layout, lots of space, the kitchen has everything you need and is very well equipped. Even the 3 bathrooms were equipped with soap and shampoo! The house met every expectation we had. What we very much enjoyed were the 2 fireplaces in this home, it was so nice to sit there, talk or watch a movie. One day we walked down to Stowe which is about a 25-30 minute walk. All in all we highly recommend this place and we will definitely come back there!
Each year some class members from our old school in Montreal, who still ski, have a reunion ski week somewhere. This year we chose Stowe. I reviewed the properties on VRBO and chose this one, which turned out to be an excellent choice. It has recently been up-dated and has everything you would want for a ski vacation; comfortable beds, modern kitchen, large living and dining areas, fire place, great view and close to the ski hills and town. I recommend this house for adults looking for a perfect place to stay when visiting the Stowe area. I should also mention that we had 4 feet of snow during our ski week, skiing does not get any better.
My boyfriend and I spent a week in Stowe at this property and could not have asked for a better place to stay. The house was a great place to relax after our long days of hiking. The kitchen was well equiped, well laid out and very clean. It made cooking a pleasure. The wall of windows in living and dining area gave a gorgeous view that we enjoyed while eating our meals and relaxing. The fireplace was perfect for the cool June evenings. We loved curling up on the couch in front of the fire and watching a movie. We would then collapse into bed which was very comfortable.
The purpose of our trip was hiking, and we had plenty of hikes to chose from. We managed to hike Mt. Mansfield, Camel's Hump, and Stowe Pinnacle to the Worcester Ridge all during our visit. They all were just a short drive away.
I loved the fact that we could access some well known routes (Peek a view, the catamount trail, and Sterling Vally to name a few) just a few yards down the road via a snow mobile track. We had brought our mountain bikes and planned to bike the snow mobile track to the start of the Old Billing's Road trail where we would leave the bikes. We did not consider that it had been a wet spring and as it was early in June that the trail would be soggy making riding a bit hard. Fortunately, we discovered a dirt road which brought us to the start of the Maple Run hiking trail on one of the house's many hiking/skiing/biking maps which we had brought with us. On our way back (via the roads) we biked down to the local Shaw's grocery store about 2 miles from the house. It was a quick fun, ride down. Riding back up was a good workout.
Overall the house is as seen in the photos. It is very clean comfortable and welcoming. You can tell its well looked after. We will definitely be heading back there the next time we go to Stowe!
