We had an amazing stay at this house, the place is in a great location, the yard was beautiful with a wonderful view. The driveway was steep but they all are here. The hot tub had a few issues but this house couldn't have been any nicer. The owners did a great job making it feel like a perfect vacation home. Maholo
The house is tucked into the hill about halfway up Tantalus. Just a short ride up the rest of the mountain will lead you to the state park with breath-taking panoramic views of the Manoa valley, Diamond Head, Waikiki, Downtown, all the way to Pearl Harbor. The driveway was narrow and steep at parts, but it was very easy to pull in and turn around rather than backing out to help avoid the blind turns. The house was exactly as described, a cozy two bedroom with plenty of amenities for the week. It was clean and comfortable. We didn't get to use the hot tub as much as we would have liked due to arriving back most nights after 10pm and respecting the "quiet hours" of the neighborhood. Easy access to the H1 highway, which will take you wherever you need to go on the island. Found a great local breakfast and coffee spot reasonably close with friendly baristas (the morning glass) which was also near a Starbucks and Safeway supermarket. Overall we were very happy with our choice, and would gladly stay there again.
Nice place to stay at a fair price, if you are looking for a 5 star this is not for you, pros. Central location, fair price, off the high traffic area, only con would be the driveway can be a bit difficult at night
It was quite nice and clean. This vacation home is around 15min drive to Waikiki beach.
We received good directions to reach the property. The property was clean, well furnished and spacious. We were visiting 3 universities and we were in close proximity to them.
We had a great time in Oahu. This was the first time for all but my husband and staying at the Hillside Hideaway was a perfect spot for a family with young children. We are a family of 5 and this place fit us perfectly. It was great to have laundry facilities, beach towels/chairs provided and a place to cook or prepare sandwiches for a day at the beach. Hillside Hideaway was a great place to relax after being out and about all day. And we REALLY appreciated all the dining suggestions. We used several of those. Some of these places we would never have known about and turned out to be our favorites, like Rainbow Drive Inn and Leonard's Bakery. We would definitely stay here again!
