A Slice of Paradise

We just returned from 9 nights at Villa Belle Vista at West Bay Beach. Our time there was exceptional. We snorkeled, slept, ate and drank too much (!), and just had a wonderful time. The location is FABULOUS. We really liked that we had a semi-private beach but were only minutes from a lot of action on West Bay Beach. We were just steps away from two good bar/restaurants and a short walk from all the action on the beach further down (not that we spent much time hanging with the masses!).
If you are an adventurous snorkeler (and we were), you can get to shallow and deep reef straight from the condo. If not, walk down to the other end of the beach near the resorts, and you can reach reef very easily and close to the beach. Very good snorkeling for sure!
The condo is comfortable, if not a bit tired. If you prefer high end resort amenities, then this may not fit your bill. But, if you want a spacious place on the best location, this place is excellent. We prefer not to be on a beach with hundreds and hundreds of others, so this was a great place for us. Power went out on the island a few times, but the condo has a generator, so we were not in the dark during those outages.
Linda was most helpful as we planned our trip, and Kevin was responsive to our needs while we were at the property - for example, he brought us two additional chaise lounge chairs to use on the beach during our stay (Thanks Kevin!). Jensen was recommended for driving services, and he was a great asset. Ask him about things to do - he is very knowledgable!
We ate at several places in the area. Our favorite was La Sirena de Camp Bay (search on this for a tripadvisor review). Jensen took us there. It is just a little place on the water at the northeast end of the island. Fabulous location, great lion fish ceviche, lobster, snapper and the best Rum Punch we had anywhere. A must do if you like great little out of the way dining experiences. We also spent a day with SVFreeRadical on their catamaran - good day out snorkeling, eating and just enjoying Port Royal Harbor (site of a lot of pirate activity in the past).
We will go back, for sure!
