We decided on EXP Vacation rentals after an extensive search on VRBO, HomeAway, and the tripadvisor forums where we looked at both hotels and rental apartments. We stayed for 6 nights in December (part of which was during the great blizzard of 2013-yes, you read that right, a blizzard in Jerusalem). Highly recommend.



1. Location - friends had suggested that we stay near the Mahane Yehuda market (EXP is a block away), this was a great suggestion as the market is a fun place to explore (a must visit if you're a tourist) and a great place to pick up provisions or have a sit down meal (or find food during a blizzard when all the supermarkets are closed). EXP is a quick walk to the old city (it took us 15 minutes to get to the Jaffa Gate) and right next to the light rail (we were initially worried about the noise-but it was a non-issue, the tram is quiet and apartments are high above street level). It took us about an hour via a sharut (shared cab) to get to the apartment from Ben Gurion Airport.



2. Apartments - clean and modern, both of the apartments we stayed in had great views of the old city. The kitchens are well equipped with pots/pans/utensils making it easy to cook after shopping at the market, and the dining room tables are large enough for company. Loved the salon grade hair dryers in the bathroom (unexpected and a nice touch). Wifi was fast and reliable. It was great to have a washer and dryer in-unit, though we had to do some hunting online for the directions as they were in Hebrew! The floors are marble, so if you're going in winter, you might want to bring slippers.



3. Management - this is a very professional operation (check in was easy/email communication clear/management responsive). When there was leak in our first apartment during the blizzard, they were able to quickly relocate us to another apartment in the building.

Best location and great accomodation!

We stayed in a one bedroom apartment on the 7th floor. It was very clean, well furnished, had everything we could possibly need!

A water filter in the refrigerator, very comfortable beds, laundry detergent, soap in bathrooms and kitchen, great size towels, a hairdryer! They thought of everything!

The view is breathtaking and the apartment was even better than we expected!

The location is the very best! The light rail, Mahane Yehuda market, Ben Yehuda street and Kotel are in easy walking distance.

Michal and all the other staff are very friendly and helpful! They answered all our questions and are professional and very friendly.

We had the very best vacation and will definitely recommend Windows of Jerusalem vacation apartments to our friends and family!

The location of Windows was perfect for us. Important to know there is a completely stocked supermarket next door to the Yaffa entrance of the building (you do not even have to go on the street). The train stops right in front of the building. Depending on where in Geula or King George or Yaffa, you want to go, it is a 5-10 minute walk. We were not able to do the walk to the Kosel as the weather was not very cooperative. It was a 10 minute walk to the Great Synagogue. There are always cabs available on the street, we never had to wait more than 2-3 minutes to flag a cab. This location is minutes from Machane Yehuda. The staff was extremely helpful and pleasant. The place was very clean and comfortable. I asked the staff to include in their description that the #40, which is the address of the building, is located on a wall on Agripas Street, next to the pedestrian mall which you need to use to access entrance to the building. However, there are two pedestrian malls on Agripas and therefore it could be confusing, especially when arriving at a late hour. Also the elevator card doesn't always work immediately so don't get nervous, give it a few tries. The building does not have any identifying name on it so it is a little confusing at first. There are two entrances, one on the pedestrian mall and one on Yaffa--within an entrance way to other stores, etc. When we were leaving they were putting up the sign for Maayan 2000 on the Yaffa side, which could be a good indicator of where to enter. Also, if you are orthodox, the hechsher on the shabbos elevator is questionable, so check it out if you end up on the 14th floor as we did. We survived the steps and would definitely consider taking that apartment next time as the view was indescribable. One more point, we took a cab from the airport and were charged 340 shekel=$85. It was 1 am and we didn't have a choice. On the way back we paid 200 shekel=$50. if you call the office you can arrange this before you arrive. Also, if you are light sensitive when you sleep, you should know that the light shines into the rooms and as the windows are floor to ceiling there is nothing you can do about it except wear eye goggles. They have roller shades not trisim and the light comes in on the sides. As for noise, it was winter and the windows were closed but you do hear some noise from the street, but, again, not enough to not come back to this apartment.

The Windows of Jerusalem location is amazing. It is close to everything important. the apartment we found is really what we saw on the web. It is clean, comfortable and the view from the window is wonderful.. When I return to Jerusalem this will be my location as well as I recommend it to my friends.

Affordable Luxury

My stay with Windows of Jerusalem was everything I hoped for and more. My beautiful apartment, overlooking the Old City, was incredibly clean and comfortable. The staff was extremely solicitous and gracious, helping with tourist information and transportation needs. The apartment building is conveniently located right at a light rail stop and a short walk from the shuk and the Kotel. Just around the corner is the incredible restaurant Hamotzi, which recently received rave reviews in Hadassah magazine. After exhausting days of sightseeing and shopping, I felt very blessed to return to the cool comfort of my apartment, where I had every convenience of home, including bath sheets that were thick and humongous. Though I was traveling during a difficult time in Israel, I never once felt unsafe. The building has impressive and tight security. Without hesitation, I would recommend Windows of Jerusalem to my friends and family. I know it is the only place I will stay when I return.

Center of Jerusalem - only a few minutes walk from many tourist attractions, main shopping area, restaurants and nightlife. Attractions:0.1 km to Machane Yehuda open-air market where you can experience 'neighbourhood life', buying everything from fresh fruit, vegetables, snacks, fresh chumus, cheese, cakes and more. 0.3 km to Ben Yehuda Street - the pedestrian mall where you can enjoy socializing, shopping, fine restaurants, cafes and street performers. 1.4 km to Jaffa Gate, entrance to Jerusalem's Old City where you can wander through the narrow paved streets and markets while making your way towards the Western Wall. 0.9 km to the Great Synagogue, a spiritual, religious, cultural and social center for Jerusalem and world Jewry and where you can visit to hear a world renowned cantor and choir. 1.1km to the beautiful, new, Mamilla shopping mall. 1.5km to the Knesset, seat of the Israeli government, where you can visit for a free guided tour. 1.4km to Jerusalem's central bus station. There is a tram stop directly outside our building.
