Guestbook comments from the owner
We came to Le Vielle Ferme with a group of 10 adults from Dallas Texas in late May for about 10 days. The property exceeded expectations in every way. They have done a great job on the re-model and it is furnished nicely with French country touches like glazed confit pots, cool art and lovely antiques. A great dining room table was the perfect setting for long and wonderful meals. The kitchen, almost worthy of commercial status, was stocked very well which made making large meals a pleasure. The rear of the house was a grand affair with the large porch and garden spilling to the river. It was a perfect venue for bouls and barbecue. Jo was a great host with tips of how to best explore the area. We also did the cooperage tour which quite frankly was one of the trip favorites for us as well. The overall location was great. About 15 -20 minutes to St. Emillion. Coutras only blocks away had a wonderful market and the market in Libourne was amazing. My favorite post market endeavor was shucking a dozen Arcachon oysters and opening a bottle white Bordeaux, heaven on earth. Again what a wonderful find and I can’t wait to get back. We have self-catered all over Italy, France and Spain and this was one of our best finds. Thank you Jo, you and your family are in our thoughts.
I have been in France since 1992 and we have lived at La Vieille Ferme since 1997, we spent 2 and half years renovating and now have a fantasitc house for family holidays. We Live next door with our 2 girls and 2 cats. So why not come and see us!
We where looking for a project and somewhere to live but most of all we thought that the location on the river and just round the corner from all that lovely wine was a must have.
