History of the Guest House: Kirk Beatley is a fifth generation Washingtonian whose family has lived on Capitol Hill since the late 1800s, and where he continues to live today with his wife and two children. In 1905, Kirk's Great-Grandmother, Margaret, purchased this1890 Victorian home to entice her newly married daughter, Nell, to raise her own family in the neighborhood. Nell and her husband, John Luskey, raised their 12 children in this home.

In 2008 Kirk purchased the house from relatives who had owned or lived in the house since 1905, and then Kirk and his family spent over two years meticulously restoring and renovating the home, blending old-world Victorian charm and grace with new world appliances and technology.

Today, Kirk's family, a sixth generation of Washingtonians, are honored to offer you the opportunity of experiencing residential living in their newly updated family's house, in the heart of our Nation's Capitol, at the Historic Eastern Market on Capitol Hill!

    *You can reserve your suite with a deposit equal to one night's stay which includes a $100 registration fee. This deposit, including the registration fee, is applied to your first night's stay. The balance of your reservation charges are due four weeks prior to arrival.
  • Cancellation Policy: Once you receive final confirmation of your reservation, should you later have the need to cancel, please notify us as soon as possible. You may cancel your reservation with four week's advance notice prior to your arrival date and we will provide a refund of your full deposit minus the $100 registration fee. Cancellations requested after the four week deadline should be made as soon as possible, which may allow us the opportunity to rebook your reservation and provide a refund.

Wow, wonderful!!!

We haven't even left yet, but had to write the review! What a great condo. It's warm, spacious and well-appointed. The condo is located on a quiet, tree-lined street. A Metro station is just 1/2 block away and the . One street over on 8th St, there are lots of great restaurants and shops. The owner was friendly and helpful. We look forward to staying here again.

Great Stay!

Typically, we stay in hotels, but tried this rental for the price initially. Turns out we made the BEST choice! The place is so charming, very clean, has a great location-close to the Metro (you can see the station from the sidewalk out front!) a Dunkin Donuts and various restaurants, and has everything you need, including laundry! No noisy neighbors, and a very "homey" feeling. We felt totally safe staying there with our 10 year old son. He loved that we had a whole house! Plenty of room for three of us. I would recommend this place to friends, family and perfect strangers, and will use it again on another future trip. Thanks so much for the hospitality....we'll come again.

Un appartement neuf aménagé avec goût avec un balcon donnant sur un jardin. Idéal pour 2 couples. Le quartier est très accueillant. Ici, les gens se disent bonjour en se croisant dans la rue. Nous sommes à un km du Capitol. La rue adjacente offre une belle palette de restaurants de toutes origines. Un petit déjeuner avec pancake à Eastern Market à 2 pas de l'appartement est un passage obligé.
En résumé, nous avons adoré notre séjour chez Kirk et nous ne pouvons imaginer aller ailleurs lors de notre prochaine virée à Washington.

My boyfriend, my boyfriends mum and I were super impressed with this flat. The flat was immaculate, the interior design and furniture were fitting, and anyone who puts a Wolf gas range in their condo has my vote. The only thing I regret is that I did not spend more time in the condo because we so busy. The patio was my favourite thing about the flat. We will definitely return in fact we will be there in September. Truly a pleasant experience and the owners are unbelievable. I usually go to the corporate hotel not anymore.
