This Machiasport 2000 sq. ft oceanfront cottage has panoramic views of Holmes Bay and the open ocean. With steps to the water ,sweeping lawns, apple trees, gardens and a long, unpaved driveway leading to the house, this cottage is the perfect Maine getaway. The cottage has large windows in almost every room overlooking the water. Watch boats, seals, eagles, and the lobster men pull their traps all right in front of you. The interior of the house is simply and tastefully appointed. The kitchen was remodeled in '10, is fully appointed, and includes cherry countertops, stainless appliances, wine frig., and bar seating for 5. The house is ideal for a family or a romantic and quiet getaway. The Downeast area is spectacular, with numerous bold coast hikes, golf courses, restaurants, boating, fishing, Campobello island, whale watching, Acadia, etc. all within easy travel.

  • Bathroom 1 is located on the main living floor on the house. It contains most of the linens and towels for the house. Bathroom 2 is located upstairs in the Master suite.

  • The first bedroom and master is located by itself upstairs. It has a large master bath attached to it, with water views out the window. The bedroom itself has large windows overlooking the water. It has incredible sunrises/ moonrise views. The king bed has a large pottery barn down comforter on it for the chillier Maine nights. The second and third bedrooms are located downstairs. Both have views of the water as well. The second bedroom has a beautiful four poster cherry bed in it with an L.L. Bean comforter. The third bedroom has three twin beds with a long cushioned window seat for reading with a view. This bedroom is perfect for children.

A Living Art Gallery

When we entered the house, we couldn't believe how lovely it was- more than we anticipated. You have a living art gallery right out your windows, which is always changing and always breathtaking. We enjoyed our stay immensely, even my teenage sons. We wish we had more time to relax and explore the area.

Excellent Place to Stay!

We had an absolutely wonderful time staying in this home! The interior is light, spacious, and tastefully done. It's even better than the photos and description. Immediately upon arrival, we felt right at home. The views are spectacular. One morning we saw a bald eagle fly right in front of the windows at least a dozen times. It was such a quiet and relaxing environment. Our children loved it as well, and it's a great location - not too far from some fun things to do, and interesting places to visit. We highly recommend this home as a place to stay, and definitely plan on going back. Thank you for opening your home to us. We had a marvelous time!

Beautiful Everything

We stayed in this beautiful cottage for 5 nights. There are so many beautiful sights to see in this area and we did our best to see them all. And the seafood would be a whole other review!!! It was wonderful to come home every evening to this beautiful place. The views are fantastic. We would sit for hours just looking out the windows at the wildlife. Thanks so much for sharing this beautiful place!!
