This beautifully remodeled classic Bend home sits on 125 feet of Deschutes Riverfront on Mirror Pond. It is conveniently located within walking distance to downtown Bend and all of its stores and restaurants. Spectacular views from all of the living areas of the home partake in the seasonal rituals of wildlife on the River. Evenings on the large covered deck are punctuated by the arrivals of large flocks of geese, ducks, swans, and the occasional river otter swimming on the reflective water. Behind this serene view are the trees of historic Drake Park.

The gourmet kitchen overlooks the river and opens into the family room, wet bar and breakfast eating area. Equipped with high-end appliances that include a classic French Gas Range, two dishwashers, a warming drawer and a wine fridge, this area was designed for entertaining. Lots of counter space and direct access to the barbeque area and deck make for convenient indoor/outdoor living.

The large, covered deck on the riverfront is a beautiful place to enjoy all of your meals in the warm months, and the built-in heaters make even the cool evenings spectacular.

The kitchen, separate dining room and comfortable living room all overlook Mirror Pond through expansive windows. A gas fireplace in the living room adds to the comfort in the cool evenings.

There are two bedrooms and two baths (one en suite) downstairs comfortably furnished, one with a queen bed and one with a king bed. Each has ample closet and clothes storage space. The upstairs Master Suite overlooks the river and includes an office area (with a futon/double bed), Master Bath, and Sleeping area with a cal-king bed.

You can launch your kayaks right from the lawn and explore the Deschutes from downtown Bend to the Mill District or even practice your fly fishing into the river.

One unique feature of the property is the detached party room. The room is fully heated, has hot and cold running water and an ice maker, and is perfect for playing cards or games, smoking a cigar, or just relaxing and conversing...especially during the cooler months.

The three car garage and shop have plenty of room to store bikes, skis, and other outdoor recreational equipment. The large, park-like lawns bloom all season from over 1000 perennial plants. The property is large enough to ensure privacy, yet is located in the center of all of the amenities that Bend and Central Oregon have to offer. It offers quality ''Bend Living'' at its finest!

Things to do: Bend offers almost every outdoor activity known! Staying near downtown Bend puts you in the heart of this beautiful area and makes getting to and from your activities easy.

This home is located within easy walking distance to the restaurants and galleries of downtown Bend. It is directly on Bend's trademark downtown river/pond, Mirror Pond. People staying at the home can use the drift tubes and kayaks to float the river, to explore about two miles of the famous Deschutes River. There is abundant wildlife that visits the property, including River Otter, Mink, ducks, geese,and birds. One can observe Osprey and Bald Eagles seasonally. It is about a 20 minute drive to Mount Bachelor Ski Area and lifts for Winter Recreation. Bend is located near old volcanic disturbances that left flows of lava, lava tubes and caves. Local Indian population lived in these caves and there are ample opportunites to hike and explore in the desert side of the Bend area. There are about 25 public access golf courses in the area. Forest hiking and fly fishing is world class in the area.

For a great family vacation, Bend is very hard to top.

Our stay in Bend was perfect in every way. Fun on the River felt like living in our own private park lodge. Not sure if my favourite spot to sit was the porch rocker in the morning sunshine, or curled into a corner of the sofa in front of the gas fireplace in the evening. Everything was ready for our arrival - pristine clean and the owner and local manager helpful and professional in every way. The owner even apologized after our departure for the "bad" spring weather. We laughed as though there were cool days and even a couple wild brief snow storms, we mostly experienced lots of sunshine which was exactly what we wanted after a gloomy grey winter in Vancouver. We've been to the Bend area a few times now, and always find new things to do - it is so rich in both outdoor and cultural opportunities. Returning home in the evenings we cooked up a storm with ingredients purchased from local markets like Newport Market (walking distance) and Whole Foods in the well appointed large kitchen. Nancy P's bakery is also walking distance and must be experienced! Our Shetland sheepdog was in her element with the large fenced front and back yards.

If we have the chance, we would return to Bend, and to "Fun on the River"

We only wrote one word in the guest book..."Perfect!". We have wanted to revisit Bend now for a number of years after a 20 year hiatus . This is the 1st time we have used VRBO, WOW!! The Mirror Pond house far exceeded our expectations (which were pretty high, ha!), well appointed ( everything you can imagine & NOT), comfortable ( love the front room fire place ),entertaining ( birds, muskrat,deer,bat cave) & location, location,location!! We are craft beer geeks who co-Homebrew & plan our vacations around breweries . Bend has turned into a Beercentric destination with 17+ breweries( we visited 11) & a plethora of tap houses & eateries ,there is even a car wash with a growler fill station! We never went more than 15 minutes in one direction to reach any destination except the airport. Being early spring water sports were not on our list but we did hike@the Dechutes River Rec. area& had the company of a pair of Bald Eagles. The owner was prompt ,very gracious, has a fun sense of humor & took care of all of my calls & emails to my satisfaction . Many thanks to the caretaker for turning the house around in a day to accommodate us. On the last day there we cut our brewery touring short& spent the afternoon playing in the kitchen & grilling on the porch at "our house", it was magic, aahhhh...Next time we will stay a month,HA!!!

Fantastic house in the perfect Bend location. Home has been beautifully remodeled and worked perfectly for 4 adults and 2 children. Kitchen stocked with everything we needed (and more). We definitely hope to stay there again!

Our family of 4 considers this home the best we've ever rented for a ski vacation. It's spacious layout, convenient Bend location and high quality contents made for a very comfortable/memorable week. The drive to Mt. Bachelor is an easy half hour, and being 5 minutes from Bend's wide range of dining choices is great. Mirror Pond's bird life and natural landscape are ever changing, so gazing out of the home's large windows is a treat. Living here is really peaceful and an absolute pleasure. A bonus is professional, fine hospitality: arranging with the owner runs smoothly and his local manager is a friendly, fabulous resource.

Wonderful stay!! Beautiful Clean home.

We stayed at the Mirror Pond home over Christmas. Had a wonderful time!! Our family who live in Bend came over for Xmas Eve dinner, plenty of room for everyone. The home is comfortable and clean. A+ view!! We have rented again for June.
