As planned we were greeted by the apartment manager. The apartment was clean but not as well stocked as it should have been. There were no bowls for cereal thus we ate our cereal out of the coffee mugs so coffee first then cereal but not together. The showers were very small about the size of a phone booth. Fortunately none of us are large people but if you dropped the soap picking it up was almost impossible. The patio was dated and some of the furniture broken. The area around the apartment was not one that was in the most secure or safest part of town. On several occasions in the evening on the steps near the apartment that lead to the Vatican a small group of men were excessively drinking to the point one was unable to stand up. That same night one was passed out on a discarded mattress on the side walk. This not an apartment I would recommend.
My sister and I rented this apartment for one week. It was quiet, clean, and airy, just a short distance away from the steps leading up to the Vatican museum in a lovely neighborhood with wonderful dining and shopping (including a fantastic little bakery on Via Barletta called Dolce Maniera). We slept like rocks in our comfortable beds, and the bathrooms were nicely appointed (although the showers were a bit tight on space).
All of the appliances were relatively new and worked just fine, and the layout of the apartment suited our needs very nicely when we opted to eat in. The kitchen is a bit short on cooking utensils, but nothing we weren't able to work around.
Both the owner and the manager were prompt, professional, and pleasant---no complaints on customer service at all.
If we were to choose the pièce de résistance of the apartment, though, it would have to be the terrace. That is where we spent every morning and every evening (when it wasn't raining), we loved it so much there. It was our retreat after a hot day of Coliseum and chiesa crawling!
All in all, I would stay in this apartment again in a heartbeat and would gladly recommend it to others. Thank you for making our stay in Rome so enjoyable!
We had a wonderful stay in this clean and modern apartment. The Manager, Norman, was fabulous, protective, informative, helped with tours, getting us in and out, checked in every day.
We had two meals a day in the apartment and had all that we needed. The terrace is wonderful, the beds comfortable, the wifi great and only one flight up! We couldn't have enjoyed ourselves more.
We had a great 5 day stay at this property. It has a lovely outside terrace which is private and is close to grocery store and restaurants. The apartment was clean and well maintained, the only issue is hot water in the shower is intermittent, but once you figure out how to manage that no problem. Recommended for everyone
Would not recommend this apartment. The terrace was filthy with trash and cigarette butts, the "clean dishes" were dirty. The glasses in the bathroom were coated with toothpaste and there was no coffee maker. The neighborhood was littered with trash and beggars. I did not feel safe walking to the grocery alone that was just two blocks away.
Also, we were charged a 2 euro "tax" per person per night that was not stated on Home Away or on the confirmation from the owner.
I would not recommend this apartment.
Our family came from the US to stay at this great apt about 2 blocks from St Peter's Square and literally a stones throw away from Vatican City. The apartment was exactly as billed and the air conditioning worked great (it was an extremely hot Summer in 2012, so this was a necessity). The owner and manager were very receptive to our needs.
The only issue that we had is that our flight arrived in the morning at approx 9:30am and we were not able to get in and relax until just before 12noon. The manager did allow us to bring our bags up and put them on the terrace while we walked around, but we have 4 children and that did not last very long before everyone was tired and cranky and wanted to sit down. The manager did end up letting us sit out on the terrace, which was great, so it did work out. I think that the issue came up because of miscommunication between myself and the owner.
Again, the apartment was great and if ever going back to Rome, I would definitely like to rent this apartment again.
