Spend time in a place rich in tradition, literature and culture, where our native Irish language prospers but most of all spend time in a beautiful house where you can marvel at the splendour of its surroundings with every modern convenience the house offers privacy and comfort.

This is no ordinary cottage, quite apart from breath-taking views from every windows, the house is utterly delightful and comfortable with oil fired central heating, wooden floors and subtle decor which sets the tone in this tranquil hideaway. Situated right at the heart of what

National Geographic calls it 'the Most Beautiful Place on Earth .The spectacular views of the rugged cliffs which make up the coastline can be seen from every window of the house.

It overlooks Clochar Beach, Sybil head,The Three Sisters, Mount Brandon,Smerwick Harbour..It inspired classic films such as David Leans 'Ryan's Daughter' Tom Cruise/Nicole Kidman epic 'Far and Away'.

Situated on the Panoramic Slea Head drive and the Dingle Way,10Km from the quaint fishing town of Dingle, Golf links, horse riding, hill walking, and beautiful safe sandy beaches close by.

Sheep graze the lush land around the Stone House as do ponies from time to time,if the ponies are there they like you to pay them a little attention and feed them carrots/apples.

You can walk through the fields attached to the house and feel the freedom of living in the country also you can walk to the cliffs through the fields and sit on the stone wall and watch the waves and the ocean and the surrounding hills and cliffs and feel the peace and tranquility seep through your body!!

The house is probably the best situated on the dingle peninsula with views that awe-inspiring, the pictures that accompany this sight are all the the views you will experience from you visit.

I always try to write reviews, but I knew this one would be hard to write since how many ways can you say the same thing as the many positive reviews already posted.

In Ireland you never know what you will get for weather but we arrived on a day when the sun was shining bright and very little wind.

Three of us got out of the car and literally gasped at the beauty in front of us. We entered the House and windows were in all the right places in the Living Room, and the Master Bedroom (if possible) had even a more spectacular view,

Everything you could want or need is in the House .

Then the bonus we got to meet Philomena who with her husband built the house and a new smaller one right next to it.

As they are prone to say in Ireland , Philomena is a lovely woman. It was so much fun talking to her and the next day we met one of her daughters (Sharon) who had us smiling with stories of some of the Bus Drivers in Ireland.

This is a place that if you want to rest your head on a pillow knowing that when you wake up one of the most spectacular views in the world will greet you, then just send in your deposit.

I have been lucky enough to travel through most of the World. There are only a few places in the world that can match Ireland for overall beauty and even a smaller number of locations that the average person can afford and be given such a fabulous location and home to make their own for a few days or weeks (if lucky)

Then you get the Bonus of the Irish people who I find among the friendliest and helpful people in the world.

There is so much more I could write about the beauty of the Dingle Peninsula but I will leave that to the Guide Books.

If you want something special, plan your trip to rent the Stone House. I promise you will not be sorry!!

Absolutely beautiful

  • 5 of 5

The view from the cottage is unparalleled, the comfort of the home is perfect, the owners were delightful and responsive and funny and extraordinarily helpful. There are dozens of beautiful hiking options out the front door and Dingle just a short drive away. The scenery was gorgeous, even on a rainy windy day. My only complaint is that we could not stay longer. I cannot wait to go back and will stay for as long as humanly possible.

The Most Beautiful Spot in Ireland

  • 5 of 5

This perfect cottage was the highlight of our trip to Ireland. The view is unrivaled and the world famous Slea Head Drive is just out the front door. The cottage itself is built to the highest standards and kept us more than cozy despite the unpredictable Irish weather! We enjoyed our morning walks and afternoon hikes on the Dingle Peninsula only to come back to unobstructed views of pastures, cliffs, and the mightly Atlantic Ocean. We enjoyed our french press coffee each morning whilst gazing out upon our only neighbors: cows and sea birds. The nearby area offers plenty in the way of outdoor recreation, beachcombing, and dining. The sunsets are unreal as you gaze out upon the sea with a glass of wine in hand. The view from this cottage is only matched by the warm and generous hospitality displayed by both Sharon and Philomena...both of whom went out of their way before, during, and after our stay to make us feel most welcome, accomodated, and comfortable. To this day, we continue to gaze at our unbelieveable pictures and dream of our time there! We can't wait to go back for another visit to this one of a kind gem along the Wild Atlantic Way.

Relaxation guaranteed

  • 5 of 5

What a pleasure to stay in this home. It, and the owners, were as welcoming as could be. We hiked every day, mostly starting right from the house. The scenery is fantastic in every weather -- every-changing clouds, rugged cliffs, churning seas, heather everywhere, cows, sheep, and green grass galore! It was considerably milder than winter in northeast U.S. - so an excellent choice for a winter holiday. It was tempting to stay put and enjoy the view and the peat fire, but exploring the countryside and the unique geology, beehive huts, iron age forts, ancient churches, and beaches, was equally fascinating. We've stayed in many rentals, and this one sure felt like home. The owners went out of their way to help. We would love to return!

Thank you for sharing the "home away from home" with us! We absolutely loved it! Loved the house, the view and Sharon! She did a fantastic job taking care of us! We wish we could have met Phil, but she wasn't feeling well during the time we were there; however, she communicated with us. The site that described the house, view and area were totally correct! The view is "to die for"! My husband admired the construction of the house, the design, the stone, and appreciated all the workmanship. Amazing, beautiful place. When we had to leave, we all three said we must return! Again, wonderful, beautiful place! Thank you for sharing!!! If you are looking for a place to rent in the Dingle area, rent this house!!! You will love it!
