Stunning views, beautiful house,

5 of 5
Submitted: April 4, 2013 Stayed: March 2013
We first stayed in the stunning Stone House a few short years ago when we were a family of three and wanted to get away from it all for some quiet and relaxation with our newborn. We vowed to return so when the opportunity presented itself our family of five returned, again with a newborn in tow.

We loved our stay then, we enjoyed it even more this time around. The views take your breath away when you walk through the door and the cleanliness and comfort of the house allowed us to settle in in a matter of minutes. Everything we required was available, right down to the open fire that was set for us to enjoy later that day when we came in from the cold. The location of the house couldn't provide a better base for exploring the Dingle Peninsula and it was always a delight to come back after the day’s travels. The owner Phil was always accessible and always helpful if required.

In short, if you want a holiday in a stunning location in a fabulous house that caters for all your needs then you need not look any further; we're already planning our return trip!

This spacious and well-appointed home is unbeatable. Not only is it beautifully constructed and furnished, but it has expansive and breathtaking views. Windows open onto vistas of surrounding meadows with picturesque sheep, distant crashing waves, and sculptural rocky peninsulas. Everything needed for a comfortable stay is generously provided and the kitchen is exceptionally well equipped.

Significantly, the owners, Philomena and Alec, are gracious, helpful and welcoming. You will be lucky to book a stay at Stone House.

A Place Apart

5 of 5
Submitted: January 7, 2013 Stayed: December 2012
We were 4 adults and 4 children and had a wonderful time after Christmas and saw in the New Year in Tigh Meaig in this wonderful house in this wonderful place that is in the West Kerry Gaeltacht. The house sits at the most westerly point in Ireland. Here the broad Atlantic meets the immovable West Coast of Ireland. The land here is shaped and sculpted by wind and sea and it has created the most magical and rugged landscape of mountains, meadows, cliffs, headlands and sheltered beaches. This same land has witnessed the passages of peoples and cultures over the last 6,000 years and each had left its mark on the area. Walking here is a pleasure as land and sea, mountains and monuments compete for attention. This is home to the West Kerry Gaeltacht one of the last bastion of Irish language and Gaelic culture extant in Ireland today. This give the area a cultural identify that is unique and sensitive. Tá and áit álainn iontach – muir, tír, spéir, séideadh na gaoithe, uile go léir is uaigneach.

Absolutely Magnificent!

Submitted: January 2, 2013 Stayed: December 2012
Our family of four had the opportunity to stay at the Stone House over the Christmas '12 Holiday and had an excellent experience. The house is even better that the pictures show - VERY clean, a fully equipped kitchen with all the amenities, plenty of room, lots of access to bathrooms, oh and not to forget, the most beautiful view on the Dingle penninsula. The owner Phil was wonderful - she stopped by a couple of times to make sure everything was to our liking and to answer any questions we had. I found myself enjoying the beautiful view on the porch with a coffee or Guiness several times - its something our entire family will never forget! It's about a 15 minute drive into Dingle where the dining was excellent and my girls really enjoyed the shopping. We also liked the Louis Mulchay Pottery shop - we bought a couple of pottery pieces and they also have a cute little cafe upstairs. Make sure to take roadtrip around the Dingle Penninsula via R559 - the scenery is breathtaking (although the driving and narrow roads take a little getting used to!). So if you are looking for accommodations in Western Ireland - and want a beautiful home with an incredible ocean view - you simply could not to better than The Stone House. Thanks for everything Phil!

my wife and i brought our daughter and her boyfriend to stay in early november. the house was exactly as described, and had plenty of room and privacy for up to 8 people. philomena, the owner, was a delight, as was her daughter sharon. we did quite a bit of sightseeing of the majestic scenery of the dingle peninsula, much of it within just a few miles of the house. enjoy the solitude and the quiet....we slept like babies!!
