Enjoyed stay

  • 4 of 5
The apartment was pleasant and had all we needed. Everything was nice and in good shape. Laura and Sam were helpful whenever needed. Bushwick is on the way up but some may find it uncomfortable. We did not; we enjoyed the variety of people; however if you want to be in Manhatten in 10 minutes, this is not the place for you. We found the Brooklynites to be helpful and friendly in general.

Wonderful little getaway in Brooklyn!

  • 5 of 5
This beautiful historic brownstone houses the cutest little studio apartment that is perfect for getaways in NY! Away from the incessant commerce of Manhattan (now little more than an out of style suburb of Brooklyn, ha!) This little studio is located in like the epicenter of cool! Galleries, cafes, venues, the neighborhood is so exciting and so Brooklyn! The apartment itself is so cute and overlooks a meticulously maintained garden! It also helps that Sam and Laura are like super cool!
Totally recommended!

Still a way to go.

At its price, this is definitely a pad for a pair of students/young people who want to get up, get out and come back late. For comparison, I would say this beats the Bowery's Whitehouse Hotel spacewise and for having your own shower/toilet (on the snug side here but clean, freshly tiled, no fungus), also for being quiet at night. But then, the Bowery's in the heart of Manhattan and the cost of the Whitehouse is two thirds the cost for a tight double. It's a matter of priorities. This is pretty distant, in a transitional area which definitely delivers local color; it is what I'll call roll-yer-sleeves-up Brooklyn—not Park Slope or Brooklyn Heights—where you'd pay double. Internet's been mainly okay, however, a TV is nowadays an expectation and there isn't one. Other points: please, Laura and Sam, provide a wardrobe/armoire/wooden thing to place coats, and drop that bit about a view of the garden—there is no view of a garden or not one we've bothered to open the drapes for (I'd include a shot if I could find how). Overall there is a need for attention to detail (get rid of the blue tarp in the entrance yard, paint the apartment door, use quality white sheets and towels—things pretty easy to rectify); it's a thin divide between charm and seedy, keep an eye on it, guys, and be honest with your descriptions, then people will not feel let down. As yet, you seem to be amateurs in a highly professional business.

Lovely appartment in Brooklyn

  • 4 of 5
My girlfriend and I spent one week in New York renting this lovely appartment. It was just five minutes walking from the subway stop. The apartment was very clean and comfortable with a very big king size bed! Laura and Sam were very nice with us, suggesting where to go and helping us in everything we needed! We would definitely Rent it again! Thank you very much Laura and Sam!

Amazing and Beautiful!

I had a wonderful stay in this lovely apartment. The bed was so comfortable I felt I was sleeping on a cloud. The garden view is absolutely charming and brightened my time. It was very quiet.

The location is very convenient. The apartment really is 2 steps from the metro and 15 minutes to Manahattan. I really liked the area. It was very fun and I felt in the know. My hosts were very generous to give me lots of insider information.

I will definitely stay here again!

Bushwick, Brooklyn is THE place to be for those in the know. It is a vibrant, exciting neighborhood where the mythic NYC of artists, intellectuals and and ethnic diversity can still be seen. While our brownstone is on a spacious residential avenue, it is a block away from dynamic Broadway, characterized by incongruous juxtapositions such as our favorite French cafe and a Gospel church. The neighborhood is the home of NYC's most cutting edge art and music scenes and there are a plethora of galleries, bars, and music venues.

A 15 minute ride over the Williamsburg on the J train to downtown ( SOHO, Lower East Side, East Village, Chinatown, Wall Street) and easy connections to other neighborhoods make it easy to visit tourist attractions. The J train is above- ground and was voted the best train this year because of it's frequency and cleanliness. We are also close to the M train to Midtown and the L to Williamsburg, Union Square and Chelsea.
