Excellent place for riding bikes lots of paved and dirt roads to explore with vista of Mount Lassen so be sure to explore the area (bikes provided) and nature walks near and around scenic Lake McCumber. The forest is every where.
Lassen National Park is just a short 11 miles up the road. With every sort of hiking trail with spectacular visits for you photo enthusiast. Winter sport activities such as cross country skiing and snowshoeing snow and snowmobiling if you have one.
You don't have to go far from the house for cross-country skiing and snow shoeing lots of open land, roads and fields.
Lake McCumber is great for fishing (electric motor boats only). Great for canoeing and kayaking. Just a short walk up the lane there is a creek that feeds into the lake where the kids can splash around in the water & great for the dogs, Manzanita lake & Summit Lake in Mt. Lassen have designated swimming area.
