Perfect family retreat
We couldn't have been happier in this beautiful house, a lovingly and carefully restored craftsman. We delighted in the owners' choice of colors, artwork and decoration, comfortable furniture and beds, beautiful dishes, and the completely equipped kitchen, right down to the microplane. Honestly, there was not a single thing we needed that hadn't been thought of. We had two wonderful dinner parties for family and friends, and felt so lucky to be able to spend time together and eat at our dining room table and not in a restaurant. It was easy for our 96-year-old mother to get around the house, parking was a cinch out front, and we quickly learned our way around Seattle from this convenient location - much easier than our previous stay in Belltown. Our first-night dinner at The Stumbling Goat two blocks away was delicious, and we had coffee and pastries from Diva Espresso every morning. It is worth the short drive to Whole Foods on the other side of Greenlake if you need to shop for meals. The Sunday Farmers Market in Ballard was amazing - berries, peaches, rainbow carrots, golden beets, artisan cheeses, chocolate croissants, ice cream, you name it! Definitely not to miss! The pictures in the listing give an accurate taste of what the house looks like, but there are even more beautiful shots that could have been included. Lynne and Matthew made the reservation and check-in process seamless and we found the entire house immaculate and amazingly well-equipped. All in all, we had a fabulous time and can't wait to come back to stay here and do all the things we didn't have time to this summer.
