wonderful cottage

The cottage is wonderful! It has every thing you need. It is spacious and super clean with excellent deco. It is very homy but very elegant at the same time. It has a beautiful view of the river. It is in a quiet area that you could hear the birds, the wind and the river. But it is also very close to Traverse city downtown (only ~10 min drive). It is definitely a great place for a vacation. Both Wayne and Evan were very nice and very helpful. They replied phone calls, emails and texts instantly. They answered my questions very patiently. They tried their best to make things work for me and my friends. I highly recommended this cottage and will definitely come back again!

peaceful weekend getaway

This cabin is absolutely amazing! It was clean, well decorated, and equipped with everything necessary for a relaxing weekend. The river views were breathtaking and able to be seen from just about every window in the house. There are acres of land to explore and hike and a great hot tub to soak in after. The fireplace made the entire home feel cozy and warm, and there was more than enough firewood. It was great to feel like you were far away but only about 15 min. from Traverse City and wine tasting. The owners couldn't be easier to work with, and Evan was helpful with restaurant recommendations and area activities. We can't wait to stay again in the peaceful serenity of River Bend cabin!

Fun Friends Getaway!

We rented the River Bend Cottage (if you can really call it that - it is wonderfully spacious) with a group of friends for the Presidents Day Weekend. There were 7 adults staying there and a couple of friends visited throughout the weekend. The accommodations were even better than expected! The beds and bedding were very comfortable. The furnishings in excellent condition (often rentals are rather more worse for the wear). The fireplace is gorgeous and puts out a great amount of heat quite quickly. The kitchen is fully appointed with dishes, cookware and even some essential spices. The views of from the living room/deck of the snowy Boardman River were stunning. Some folks enjoyed the hot tub.

Everyone in our group commented repeatedly how happy they were with the home and its location. We're already talking about our next visit! Evan was super helpful and friendly in getting us acquainted with the house and answering a few questions we had over the weekend. Working with Wayne via email on the front end was seamless. His response time was snappy and he provided wonderfully detailed information to all of my questions.

Can't say enough positive about this location and its owners. If you're on the fence - jump off - you won't regret it!

This place was perfect

My extended family came up here for a weekend (my husband was skiing the North American Vasa XC ski race) and we were all blown away by how awesome this place is. It was incredibly clean and there are actually 3 full bathrooms if you count the one off the master bed. It was set up very nicely for socializing, and we made great use of the hot tub! We were also watching the many varieties of ducks float by on the river. There was lots to do in nearby Traverse City. There is already talk amongst us about a return visit this summer and again next winter!

The owners were fantastic and easy to work with.

We are already recommending staying here to friends and other relatives.

Although unable to stay- the owners are very friendly and understanding

I had planned to book the property for New Years for a group of friends. In order to secure a place that met all our criteria, I found this property and reserved it in the fall with the contract and 50% deposit. The reservation process went by very smoothly via email and I was excited for the getaway.

Unfortunetly, many of the party backed out early in December, and so I contacted the owner to let him know that I might be cancelling and to get the information on how a cancellation process would work. He informed me that I can cancel at any time, and to let him know ASAP so they could try and re-book the cottage. If the property was unable to be re-booked, he was still willing to give me a credit towards another booking of this property equivalent to 50% of my forfeiture. I informed the owner as soon as I knew that the majority of the party would be unable to join and let him know he could start trying to re-book the cottage. He kept me informed and let me know as soon as another party took interest and booked the cottage. He then immediately let me know that my 50% deposit refund was in the mail.

Although I was unable to fulfill my reservation at this wonderful looking cottage, I have to say that I look forward to staying here in the future since I know the owners are great at communication, friendly, understanding and just very easy to work with. Thanks, guys, and I look forward to working with you again!
