Watson Manor is an Executive Home built in 1920 and has had quite a face lift to the house as well as the property. There is a main house, separate guest room, boat house, lots of parking, including RV, and a huge game room.
The main house has a stone fireplace and an enclosed sun porch overlooking the lake. Great care was given to soft comfort and atmosphere. The game room is an elevated hang out. Pool table, air hockey, Nintendo, Wireless Internet, poker table, ping-pong table, bar and stereo system, with sound-proofing so as not to disturb the main house.
New this spring, a double shower steam room has been added.
The grounds are completely kid-proof, with a toddler play area complete with play structure and toys completely visible from the house and game room for safety. The lake is fenced off for safety and security as well as a gate to the pier. Boat launch is next door.
There is 100 ft of lake frontage and a 100 ft pier wired for bass boats, and complete with lighting for evening swims or fishing. Floating dock to tie boats to.
Walking distance to restaurants and a small grocery store.
You will not be disappointed with Watson Manor and you will want to know the history of this special get-a-way. But you have to stay to find out!
This house allows pets 'only' upon pre-approval on an individual basis.
I've stayed here and it's great. The condition of the hi algae in the lake has nothing to do with the property, previous reviewer just didn't do their research on the lake and how bad the last few summers have been. Would totally stay here again and my family has stayed on clearlake every year in various rentals and we know what's available out there.
One of my favorite places to rent on Clear Lake! Love being able to split the houses between friends and family for our trips and owner was very accommodating to us.
My wife and I have rented properties in Clearlake for years and boy were we disappointed when we drove up to this place. The pictures shown in this add are nothing like the real property. There was no gate to section off the property from the pier and dock, and when you went on the pier there was nothing stopping you from falling into the beach below for 20 feet. The dock was highly unsafe, I really do not know how they are able to rent it like that. They claim the property was toddler safe, but it was not. We were expecting to drive up this huge manor on Clearlake to be really something, but we were very disappointed. It was surely not a safe place for our grand children. The house was not adequately cooled, so when it got hot, there was no place to go to get out of the heat. The kitchen had no ventilation in it and when you had to cook inside the kitchen you would pass out from the heat of the oven. The property is very old and needs a lot of work, and it is defiantly not worth the money to stay here. The property is located in probably the worst part of the lake, the algae was very thick and on the hot days it smelled really bad and with no gate to the pier is not some place you would want to take your kids. Had we have known it was like this, we would not have chosen to rent this property. I surely do not know how they continue to rent this property. The owners of this property were not pleasant to deal with.
We rented last summer. I can't believe we did not do anything about this place. Did call the owner on arrival and stated the lake was contaminated and not able to swim in it. A disaster with all familly members not able to swim. Could only use the boat to get a few way out in the rough middle and ski. Horrible Horrible Horrible place. Can't believe you still continue to rent. In talking to locals they said it is bad like this every year. Had to pay to use a pool each day(14 of us)...just not the same. Smelled sitting outside. DONT RENT ON CLEAR LAKE. Paula
