HIGH SIERRA CABIN 7000' ELEVATION

Bass Lake Cabin Rental Photos and Description

2 Bd, 1 large full bath and 1/2 bath, 1400 sq ft

Please read through the entire ad as most questions can be answered including availablity, pricing and proximity to Yosemite National Park and Bass Lake. This beautiful cabin is located in the 'High Country' of the Sierra National Forest. The cabin is run completely by solar power, it is 'off the grid'. There is no phone or cell service. However, It is a fully functional cabin with electricity supplied by solar and cell service is approx 4.5 miles away. It has a propane stove/oven/hot water heater and a propane fridge. There is a TV with Direct Tv and some movie channels and DVD player for movies and board and card games in the cabin. If you want to relax and 'get away from it all', this is the place to be. Please be advised, because of the remote location of the property, linens(sheets, towels etc) are not supplied with the rental. There is plenty of pillows, covers and comforters. If needed, an outside service will provide the linens/towels for a $100 charge. I would need at leasts a 1 week notice to arrange for that service.

The cabin is located approximately 45 minutes from the south entrance to Yosemite National Park. It is another 45 minutes to an hour, depending on traffic, from the entrance to Yosemite Valley. Bass lake is approximately 25 minutes from the cabin.

Thank you for considering our cabin for your next getaway. PLEASE READ THE ENTIRE AD AS MOST QUESTIONS CAN BE ANSWED INCLUDING AVAILABILITY, PRICING AND PROXIMITY TO YOSEMITE NATIONAL PARK. There is a propane fridge and hot water heater. Cabin is only 4 years old and very clean and comfortable. If you are looking for a getaway with endless outdoor recreation opportunities this may be for you.

We enjoyed our stay. The set up was great. Thank you for having the fire pit set up. We enjoyed our fire. Only complaint was the windy road. Thank you for the clear directions.

I have lived in the Oakhurst/Bass Lake area for 40 years. My wife and I have 4 kids ages 12, 17, 20 and 24. We are an outdoor/sports family and are extremely active in both summer and winter sports.

Robb Clayton, Manager purchased this cabin in 2009

I have always loved the high county of the Sierras. The beauty and peacefulness helps you focus on whats important in life, not to mention the endless recreation opportunities.

PERFECT FOR A WEEKEND GETAWAY

  • 5 of 5
The cabin is located on beautiful, scenic property. There are other cabins around but you still have adequate privacy. The cabin is newer, decor is nice, and very clean! We did not use the generator once and really enjoyed the rustic feel of the cabin. It's perfect for a family getaway or a couple. sleeps everyone very comfortably. I would definitely return!

LOVELY, WELL SUPPLIED HOME.

  • 5 of 5
Better than expected! The home is clean, and well supplied. There was tons of room (only two of us this time) and tons of trails to ride. Beautiful area with plenty to do and see. We will come back!

COSY CABIN IN THE WOODS

  • 5 of 5
We reserved the cabin for the Labor Day weekend. The cabin is about 30 min's drive from Bass lake and fairly easy to locate. Upon arrival, we found a beautiful, almost brand-new cabin in the woods. There are detailed instructions on how to use utilities/facilities. The cabin is very spacious; the attic can easily accommodate 6 people beyond the bedroom. We saw a clear sky full of stars at the night of our arrival. Unfortunately, the wind changed direction and brought smoke from the Rim Fire next morning. After learning Yosemite valley had even more smoke, we were forced to terminate Yosemite vacation. The owner generously offered to refund us rent for the remaining two nights, which is more than what we expected. Although we didn't enjoy the trip itself due to Rim Fire, we like the cabin very much. Not to mention the owner is a great person, and easy to communicate during the whole process. We'll be back!

WONDERFUL STAY!

  • 5 of 5
The cabin was absolutely beautiful! While there was no tv, Internet or cell service, our group of 4 20somthings didn't miss technology once! Customer service is of upmost importance to me, and Mr. Clayton was very professional, responding to emails and phone calls almost instantaneously with very helpful answers to questions and concerns. The cabin is conveniently located near bass lake, which has a small town in case you need things from the store, but is secluded enough that you feel the disconnect from civilization. It was also only a couple hours from Yosemite national park. Our group did a 14 mile hike with scenery that cannot be found anywhere else on earth. I would recommend the cabin to anyone! We had a wonderful time!

WE COULDN'T HAVE ASKED FOR A BETTER CABIN!

We couldn't have asked for a better cabin!
  • 5 of 5
Robb's cabin was above and beyond what we could have hoped for. The kitchen is perfect and is full of high quality pots, pans, dishes, utensils, etc. Everything in the cabin is new and clean and we felt so comfortable spending four days there. The BBQ is awesome, the front porch and fire pit are so pleasant, and the propane lights where all we needed-- we didn't use the generator once!

Having a comfortable bedroom and a clean, updated bathroom went a long way to making us feel relaxed, not to mention a great couch to catch a mid-day nap on.

As an owner Robb was wonderful. He met us the day we arrived to check in and even brought us a bottle of champagne and amazing card the afternoon I proposed to my girlfriend! He really helped make this special weekend for us go smoothly and memorable.

We had initially planned to drive up to Yosemite but we where already surrounded by great beauty, awesome creeks, Bass Lake is so close, we ended up just relaxing in the areas so close to the cabin.

I would 100% recommend Robb's cabin to anyone interested in going to Bass Lake or Yosemite. It really was a better experience than we could have hoped for thanks to the awesome home we had for the weekend.

GORGEOUSLY CRAFTED CABIN, GREAT EXPERIENCE!

  • 5 of 5
This was not my first time coming to Beasore Meadows and the general area (I'd been visiting since 1986) but it IS the first time I've stayed in such a lovely cabin, which made the experience so much more special and enjoyable! We plan to return annually with our kids to this exact cabin. I was used to roughing it without any electricity or comfy beds to sleep on and wasn't sure how I'd like having more amenities (I did want to feel a bit like I was "camping", after all). Ho boy, I will never go back to the old way! Robb's cabin is so beautifully crafted and simple, yet luxurious with all the "just right" touches. The photos don't do it justice. The beds were so comfy with nice cushioned mattress pads, the shower was hot with great water pressure, there was plenty of firewood and a lots of info. re: local fishing or swimming spots, every pot or pan one could need, nice simple plates and glasses, solar-powered portable lights for the stairs and bathroom at night, beautiful hardwood floors, and a propane 'fridge that kept everything at just the right temp. I expected rustic and old, but everything about the experience was fresh with just the right touches, yet it still felt like you were in the wilderness. We hardly used the generator but when we needed to, it was ready to go. Even things such as the propane lamps felt luxurious as they are installed via piping and mounted to the walls, instead of having to carry them around and replace propane canisters. Robb was available right up the road if we had any questions, and he was so friendly and helpful. This was our twins' first "camping" trip, and we spent their 4th birthday there. We stayed for five nights and wish we had planned longer. Our favorite part was going out on the upstairs balcony each night and listening to our kids sing to the stars, and then laying in bed together looking out and listening to the silence. The porch was a comfy place to hang out and we ate daily at the picnic table beneath the pines. There is also a convenient gas BBQ available. I have already recommended this cabin to all of my friends, you won't want to leave once you arrive!
