Gavin Tullos purchased this lodge in 2010
We spent several years vacationing in the Colorado Mountains. Then a few years saying how cool would it be to have our own place, Then a couple of more finding 'It'. We wanted to be secluded not remote, have running water, be with in a hour and half of a major airport, not too far from city conveniences but not to close either. We wanted to have hiking, fishing, and relaxation all in the same spot. We wanted our place to be 'rustic luxury'. We love our home and we love the great reviews and e-mails we get from others who have shared our place.
On the water, not close, not near, it is ON the South Boulder Creek. There is a 'Trout Ranch' about a mile up stream that stocks - all those beautiful trout come down to our place. 'Cabin' that is secluded with all the luxuries of a 5 star hotel. Direct TV, Blue Ray DVD, Surround Sound, Hot Tub, Sauna, Full gym on 2.5 acres of Blue Spruce and Aspen.
Many thanks to you all for opening your beautiful home to us for our vacation. We had a wonderful time with all of the fall colors and even had a dusting of snow one morning. Everything was cozy and welcoming...the wine was the perfect compliment to our dinners. Thank you again. Due to icing on the roads late Friday, we had to leave early but we plan to return in the future for another memorable time.
My husband and I live in Manhattan, NY and wanted to book a quick Valentine's Day weekend getaway. We have never rented an entire house before, so this website and everything about it was new for us. We have stayed at B&Bs before and always felt weird with other people in the home...so we figured we'd give this a try. And we were blown away! The pictures don't even do it justice. The grounds are gorgeous as is the home & interior. Everything you could ever want is already there for you - and every room is super comfy! We love the couches, bedding and the overall set up. Soo well done. We loved the outdoor jacuzzi and the jetted indoor tub and even though we usually don't like gas fireplaces - the 2 in the house were so realistic and gave off so much heat. We also loved the outdoor firepits. The trains were very cool to see and didn't bother us at all --it added to the experience. 5 plus stars! We will 100% be back! Thanks Gavin! You're amazing and so is your home!!!
Look no further ! If you are lucky enough to rent this wonderful home, don't delay! This place is your "great escape" and has everything you will every need or want in a home. We had such a wonderful and enjoyable time during out stay. In regards to the train...it is not a bother or bothersome. It makes you realize that life goes on regardless of where you are.

We had a wonderful time at the Diamond T and exploring amazing hiking and fishing opportunities right out the door and nearby. As for the cabin itself, we loved the comfortable master bed, the crystal clear hot tub, all the windows to let in light and fresh air, and so much more. The fishing along the creek at the end of the large deck was a highlight. Even though we're not experts at fly fishing by any means, we still managed to catch some rainbow trout. My son was thrilled to catch his first ever fish with a fly fishing pole.
Gavin was great to work with and we hope to stay again in the future.
We enjoyed out stay at the lodge last week. The pictures portrayed all the nice features and those were presented accurately; however, pictures were omitted that would have shown the train track located approximately 100 feet behind the lodge. That track handles at least three coal trains each night and the train horn blasts just outside the lodge. The horn is very loud and affected our sleep each night.
The Diamond T was perfect for our family. Very cozy, comfortable, and well-furnished. The mattresses are great, which is important when you are staying someplace for a week or longer. The lodge is only minutes from Eldora but also has a nice, isolated feeling since it sits on 2.5 acres. Gavin is a pleasure to work with and we will definitely be back. Maybe in the summer next time.
This is the perfect cabin. It is super nice on the inside and in an awesome location. We loved it and plan to come back!!
