Overview

Copper Mountain Condo Rental Photos and Description

Condo, 2 Bedrooms + Convertible bed(s), 2 Baths (Sleeps 4-6)

WINTER:

Our ski-in/ski-out condo is adjacent to the high-speed, six-passenger Super Bee lift in Copper's East Village. In 10 minutes you can be from our front door to the top of the mountain; the first to ski Copper’s powder. You can come home for lunch, a cup of hot cocoa, or just to rest your legs in the comfort of your own place, in the same time it would take you to stop and refuel at the mountain lodge. At the end of the day, there is no need to haul your skis as our ski-locker is conveniently located in the main level of our building.

Besides the great skiing at Copper Mountain (2600 ft. vertical drop, 126 trails over 2450 acres of varied terrain, 4 bowls, 22 lifts), you can ice-skate on Copper lake, walk to the Athletic club (work-out room, pool, sauna and hot tub), or use the year-round ski/snowboard training facility. And for kids, just outside our door is the tubing hill, with a magic carpet ride up.

SUMMER:

At the base of our condo is the golf clubhouse for the Peter Dye designed, championship course in Copper's Mountain Resort’s East Village. You can take the ski lift to the top of the mountain and hike or bike on scenic trails back to our condo. There are endless trail heads in the area that lead to unforgettable mountain lakes, tumbling streams and spectacular views. In front of our building, you can access the bike paths that crisscross the region and take you to Frisco, Keystone, Vail and Breckenridge.

GENERAL:

Park your car in the designated covered parking space. The building has easy access for loading/unloading and an elevator.

This warm and colorful condo has all the comforts of home. Relax and stretch out on the comfortable sofas, warm your toes at the wood-burning copper fire place, watch your favorite show on cable, listen to your CDs on our stereo system, surf the web using wireless internet, or just watch the snow fall through the floor-to-ceiling windows.

The condo has a master bedroom with en-suite full bathroom and a second bedroom with a trundle bed (two twin beds). Additional bedding is in the living room, where the futon sofa opens into a comfortable queen bed. There is a second full bathroom off of the entry hall.

The fully-equipped kitchen with oven, microwave, dishwasher, and an array of electric appliances, has everything you need to cook a complete meal. Or you can cross the path to the Copper Station Lodge and eat in one of the restaurants there. The lodge also has ski rental facilities, lift ticket windows and a coffee shop.

Our family owned and managed condo is perfect for families. It is stocked with video games and books. Copper Resort is ideally located for skiing and sightseeing in Summit County. Quaint Frisco is only 6 minutes away, while Keystone, Breckenridge and Vail are less than 20 minutes. If you don’t want to drive, the free shuttle bus stops in front of the condo to take you there.

About Paul Tripodi

We have been traveling out West and skiing at different resorts over the past 18 years. We decided that the quality of skiing and the lack of crowds made Copper Mountain Resort the perfect place to call home. So for the past four years, we have been renovating our place in the summer and skiing through the winter. I think we have reach a point where our place is now comfortable for all to enjoy year round.

Paul Tripodi purchased this condo in 2010

Why Paul Tripodi chose Copper Mountain

Copper Mountain is a planned unit development, that unlike the other major resorts in the area, can not endlessly expand it's real estate base. Which means that with its tremendous ski lift capacity and small housing base, there is usually no wait at the lifts. On busy weekends, a ten minute wait at Copper would be over an hour at Vail, Keystone or Breckenridge. The variety of skiing and size of the mountain guarantees uncrowded slopes with Copper having the best and most extensive expert terrain of any of the resorts in the area.

Great Condo - Exactly What We Wanted

  • 5 of 5

This condo was perfect for our ski vacation. Its located right next to Christy Sports (ski rentals) and the Super Bee lift, so getting equipment and getting on the mountain takes no time at all. Everything in the condo was exactly as described. It offers a great living space to cook meals and relax after a day of skiing/hiking. Would highly recommend this condo and we plan on staying here next time we come out (if available!).

Another great trip to Copper

  • 5 of 5

Had another great week at Copper- catching some final skiing before the resort closes. This is my third time at Paul's condo- you just can't beat the location- right at the base of SuperBee. The condo itself is exactly as advertised- warm, welcoming, well kept, with some nice touches by the owner. Already can't wait to come back next year!

Very pleasant stay at this condo

  • 5 of 5

This is the second year in a row that I have stayed here with friends. If you are interested in skiing, the location at the base of the Super Bee lift can’t be beat. You can be on the mountain in minutes or stop back home for lunch. The apartment was clean and well maintained with some new amenities added from our previous visit. I stayed in the second bedroom and did not have any problems with noise or the temperature. There was an electric heater but I wasn’t cold and preferred using the thick comforters. I didn’t bother to close the door to the room as my friends were just as anxious as me to get a good night’s sleep after a full day of skiing. After skiing, we usually stopped next door at JJ’s for the music and a beer before heading over to one of the resort’s other restaurants for dinner. The nights that we did eat at the condo, we found the kitchen to be will stocked. The condo is very comfortable with two sofas and an upholstered armchair and nicely decorated with handmade wood furniture by the owner. I hope to stay here again next year. A great condo, a great price and a great location.

Relatively low price for a reason.

  • 3 of 5

We were a family of 5, my husband and me and our three children (two teens and an adult). First, the positives: the owner was quick to respond, very easy to work with. The condo is clean and well-equipped with what we needed, from a household standpoint. The location of the condo is excellent. The Super Bee is good for intermediate to expert skiers, (but beginners beware, there are no greens from that lift). If you prefer green runs, it's very easy to jump on the shuttle, which is right out the front door of the building. Now the not-so-positives: Regardless of the advertisement of 2 bedroom and sleeping up to 6, this is a one-bedroom condo in which the balcony was apparently converted into a second "bedroom." This is more like a sleeping nook than a bedroom. It's adequate for children to sleep there, but most adults (unless they are very laid back) would not be as comfortable. Between the master bedroom and the sleeping nook (2nd bedroom) are the original windows that would have looked out onto the balcony but now allow persons in either "bedroom" to look into the other bedroom, so you have to make sure the curtains are carefully drawn. The window between these spaces does not close completely, so it's like you are all in the same sleeping space (coughing, sneezing, snoring, are all shared experiences). The master bed is comfortable enough, but the other beds, and especially the futon mattress are very uncomfortable. There wasn't much good sleep to be had with our group. This was also because the temperature in the sleeping nook vs. the master bedroom is very difficult to regulate. If the master was cool enough, the sleeping nook was cold. The sleeping nook is all windows, where the balcony was closed in, so the cold air really came through. The wifi here is very spotty, which may not be within the owner's control. But the three adults were on a "working" vacation, and we had a lot of "dead" spaces waiting for the internet to work again. Neither of the gas grills offered to residents had any propane, so we had to broil our steaks (not such a big deal, just annoying), and one of the two available dryers in the laundry room does not work. Perhaps we are more picky than the others who stay here, but we travel a lot, and this just wasn't what we had hoped. However, the fact that this condo is significantly less expensive is appropriate and can be a nice compromise, and if you are not so picky, and the savings might be right up your alley.

Owner's Response: Our condo has a “loft style” plan in which all the rooms can be opened to the others or closed off by a series of widows and glass doors. For added privacy, blinds and curtains can be drawn. As in other lofts, there is an inner and outer bedroom. This layout is original to the building and has not been altered. When our family is there, we usually have the rooms open to take advantage of the views through the floor to ceiling windows and then close them for privacy at night. The windows between the bedrooms are double glazed to reduce sound transmission but were not fully closed or latched during the reviewer’s stay; which is very simple to do. The reviewer’s conjecture that there was a balcony that was enclosed to become a bedroom is completely wrong. The exterior glass facade of the building has never been altered and never had balconies to enclose. The second bedroom at 8’-2” x 11’-0” is granted on the small side but functions well and should definitely not be described as a nook. The issue of the second bedroom should not have been a surprise as our photos clearly show and describe the room. We have a queen bed, two twin beds and a futon sofa. All are in very good condition. The issue of comfort is an individual preference. The reviewer liked the master bed with the soft top pad but disliked the others. I however, prefer the traditional firm mattresses on the twin beds or the futon on wood slats and sleep on them if I am there on my own. The bedrooms are controlled by a single thermostat, original to the building and yes it is difficult to balance the heat between them. Realizing this, we are installing separate systems and controls in each bedroom this summer. To reduce the cold radiation from the glass wall, we have replaced the original glass with new double pane thermal units. We have also replaced the operable portion of the wall with a new sliding window. For added comfort on cold nights, there are two electric heaters available. We haven’t had the need to use them but some of the guests have. I have notified the management company about the issues of the wi fi reception, empty propane tanks and nonworking dryers.

Lovely and Convenient

  • 5 of 5

We came here for a summer getaway and I just dreamed and dreamed how even more amazing this would be for ski-season. Full kitchen with appliances, hot shower, large entry way to remove shoes/coats/boots, etc. Large windows that let in plenty of light. Apartment is literally right next to the ski lifts. Even though we were there in the summer, the cute little town had restaurants and shops open. Yummy food. (Fresh donuts that will tempt any gluten-free gal!). Very clean, spacious for 4 people. As for summer activities, we rented bikes and road all the way to Vail on this gorgeous path, hiked up the mountain out back, and just generally took in the fresh air. Paul, the owner, provided clear directions for parking, entry, and things-to-do. Also close to Frisco and Breckenridge (brewery!).

Beautiful ski lodge

  • 5 of 5

Wonderful lodge that was just feet from the lifts. Convenient location and easy storage for ski equipment. There is even a cute area by the entrance where it's easy to hang your ski/snowboarding clothing/helmets.

Apartment was clean and well maintained with some nice home-made furnishings. The fireplace was quite a treat, especially after a long day on the slopes.

Overall, an outstanding place to stay while skiing at beautiful copper mountain. I hope to have the opportunity to stay here again for a future ski trip!
