Princeville Condo Rental Photos and Description
Studio condo with one California King bed, Large Bathroom, Sleeps two+,
This totally remodeled studio condo overlooks beautiful Bali Hai, the pearl of Kauai’s North Shore. Watch the surfers on Hanalei Bay as you enjoy a leisurely breakfast sitting on teakwood chairs on the slate covered lanai, then go visit the island sights, but be sure to get back in time for the sunsets! This studio condo is a one-of-a-kind within the complex! Accessible parking is just a few feet away from this first floor unit. The unit has been totally refurbished and nicely appointed with a modern Polynesian touch. The unobstructed view of Bali Hai is usually described by the guests as breathtaking. The beauty of the unit itself, the view of Hanalei Bay and Bali Hai and the accessibility and convenience of this unit make an unparalleled combination. And it’s all within the fabulous Garden of Eden of the north shore, the Hanalei Bay Resort.
Two guests are easily accommodated in the unit. Since you’re sleeping on the king-size custom-made Indonesian “Pineapple” bed, you can actually watch the surfers on Hanalei Bay for awhile before getting up. You might even want to stretch out on the rattan lounge chair in the bedroom while you re-read a little Michener, Theroux—or even Crichton, one of our (now late) “locals” before turning in, or check your email on the free internet. (I was tempted to say the unit sleeps three because a child could sleep on that lounge chair.) Please browse the floor plan layout on one of the photos, and let me know if it still isn't clear. NOTE: this is NOT a one-bedroom condo with a separate bedroom, it is one large sleeping room with a lounge chair, a table and two small chairs, two bed stands, an entertainment center and, a mini-kitchen between the bedroom and the bathroom.
After a day of sight-seeing you will enjoy the two-person, six-jet shower with a window facing Bali Hai (which includes a switch that, almost magically, makes the window become opaque for the shy!). This bedroom unit includes a coffee maker, toaster, microwave, mini-fridge and two mini-fry pans for your convenience. And, of course, all the countertops are granite. Air conditioning is only needed once in a while but it’s there if you need it. A beautiful beach shared with the St Regis Hotel for great swimming and snorkeling is just a short walk away down the hill past the tennis courts. And it’s all in close walking distance to all the fabulous HBR amenities like restaurant/bar/parking/tennis/pool.
FYI..We also have another (adjoining) studio condo that sleeps two with a full kitchen and Jacuzzi hot tub. Check it out at VRBO 237539 and contact me for prices and more information on that unit, which might be available when this one is not.

About Dale Carlson
My wife, Audrey, and I are up here in Sacramento, CA --when we're not in Kauai, which is never enough for Audrey, especially during the chilly rains we get here in Northern California. We've owned this property since it was totally refurbished in 2006. Before that we owned a unit in building #2, which was nice but the third floor became too much for Audrey and, more importantly, she couldn't see enough WATER, so we've fixed that problem. And now she's happy, and it doesn't get any better than that!
Dale Carlson purchased this condo in 2005
Guestbook comments from the owner
We stayed nine (9) days and nights in unit 3106 at Hanalei Bay Resort during May 2014: The owner, Mr. Carlson, was helpful and true throughout the decision and anticipation periods of time before we landed on Kauai. The condominium is spotless and very comfortably furnished, all of which we appreciated for throughout our stay. Hanalei Bay Resort, even without its restaurant (under construction), is quiet and clean and beautifully landscaped; and its 24/7 club car access to and from the beach is friendly and reliable. What is missing? A restaurant and bar close to the pool is essential — again, the hospitality and dining facility is under construction, and from what we could tell, will be really nice.
As much as can be said about the ground-floor location and great comfort of unit 3106, it remains that its view of Hanalei Bay and beyond to the far side of Wainiha Bay — is totally and constantly fabulous. As many photographs of the Kauai coastline and mountains that we snapped throughout our visit, the best and our favorites were taken from the lanai of the Carlson condominium. Day and night, daylong and under the moonlight. To add to the coastward view, the place is a few steps to the HBR swimming pool, truly one of the finest we know. Altogether, we cannot overstate how much we loved this accommodation — and, of course, the rest of the Island, as well. Next time we will stay at HBR and we will ask for the larger companion unit (3105) that has more elbow room and a full kitchen but with the same lanai position and view.
