Bernie and Naomi grew up in the suberbs of Mpls. and graduated from Minnetonka and /Edina Highschool repectively. They met at the pasttime skating rink and were married in 1985 and moved North to Onamia, Mn in in 1988. Bernie is a contractor and Naomi a massage therapist. Their 4 boys, Gabriel, Michael, Jon and Gene enjoy Music, Hunting, Fishing, Building and crafting. Gabe has crafted over 400 cribbage boards made from diamond willow inlaid with his favorite agates and built the stone fireplace you see in our cabin. Mike is navigating city life in Mpls working as a carpenter and enjoys bringing home new games he comes up with. Gene just finished his 2400 mile trek down the Mississippi River in a kayak and is headed to music school in Nashville. Jon has recently finished his internship in engineering, married the love of his life and loves to hunt with our dog Cali, a Yellow Lab.

Naomi or Bernie Iserman purchased this cabin in 2006

Bernie and I originally came up North to work with a camp called Timber Bay, a retreat center particularly for hurting youth but also for church and other various retreats. We live adjacent to Timber Bay and have made this our home. We originally built the vacation rental home for our retirement. It is only 5 miles from our home and we enjoy the creativity it takes to keep it up and running, for guests who come up North for their vacation. The new constructed part of it is about 5 years old.

The benefits include living next to a very popular vacation spot but also having the privacy and peace and quiet of the north woods. Its a 3 minute drive to the beach and wonderful activities around the Lake. We are surrounded by a variety of eateries, ATV and hiking and biking trails and beautiful sunsets and a star lit sky that will take your breath away.

EXTREMELY CLEAN!

  • 5 of 5
This was the 10th annual fishing trip to Mille Lac for myself and my son, and the first time we didn't bring any fish into the boat. That being said, the accommodations were exceptional. The home had everything we needed, it was very clean and well kept. All appliances were in working order and Naomi and her husband couldn't have been more helpful. When we told them that the meat market we had planned to shop at was no longer in business, Naomi offered to take a list from us and go to the nearer Costco and do our shopping while we unloaded our stuff. Unbelievable kindness. Wouldn't hesitate recommending this home to friends.

LARGE FISHING GROUP

  • 4 of 5
We have a 8 person fishing group that has used the cabin for the last 2 years and have booked again for next year. The price and location in regards to were its located around Lake Millacs is excellent for our group. The cabin has plenty of room for 8 guys. We bring 3 large boats so parking does get a little cramped. The only problems we have had is there is no good place to clean fish especially when the bugs are bad and some bad exterior outlets for plugging boats in. Overall the rental property has worked well for our group and we look forward to being back next year.

EASTER AND BIRTHDAY STAY FOR THE WEEKEND

  • 4 of 5
I rented the place for my birthday from friday to sunday. We were from the cities so it was a good location because we were ten of us. I liked where it was located because we had music pretty much playing most of the time outside. Bernie seemed like a nice person and they were really easy to talk to and get along with. The house was very spacious and clean with all kinds of amenities you need. I will speak for myself but the water had some different taste to me. The major problem we encountered was that it leaked maybe cas of the rain or it plugged somewhere. But other than that i would highly recommend.

THOROUGHLY ENJOYED OUR TIME HERE!

  • 4 of 5
The owners are very, very accomodating and friendly!! My family of 6 stayed at this cabin (we initially were going to have 8--all adults--and would have fit very comfortably!) for our Christmas weekend. This cabin is really like two seperate dwellings stacked on top of each other, which worked out very very well for us! We spent most of our time upstairs where the kitchen, dining and living rooms are located, but when the older adults crashed for the night, my young adult children, went downstairs where they had stocked the downstairs fridge with beverages and snacks, played video games until who knows how late! Naomi and her husband made it very clearn that we were to contact them at any point, day or night, with any questions or problems. We arrived on a snowy7 day to find the large parking area completely cleared of snow, a Christmas tree with lights and a warm fire going in the gas fireplace downstairs.
We spent one afternoon cross-country skiing at the nearby Mill Lacs Kathio state park that rents both skiis and snowshoes, had a sledding hill and a warming house with a fire burning right there. Had we known, we would have brought along marshmellows or hot dogs to roast as we warmed up.
We own snowshoes and had them along, and on Sunday morning, even with -0 temps, a few of us went snowshowing in the beautiful wooded area surrounding the cabin. Becuase it is so protected, we had no wind and it was truly a beautiful morning!
We found the kitchen completely stocked--slow cookers, mixers, cookie sheets everything! We also anjoyed the penninsula between the kitchen and living room where we laid out appetizers and cookies, extra chairs are readily available when additional seating is necessary and even with 8 of us showering after our afternoon of skiing, we each enjoyed a wonderful HOT shower!
