This is your own Kona Paradise, 180 degree Ocean View, 2150 square feet of beautiful living space. Located in Kona Paradise, just far enough away from the hustle and bustle of the city and a perfect location for exploring the entire island. Three bedrooms, each with a queen bed, two full master suites with full en suite baths. The upstairs lanai is large, great for sunning or watching the sunset the downstairs lanai is covered and great for entertaining or that quiet dinner overlooking the ocean. There is a beautiful garden with fruit trees and flowers for you to enjoy. Pebble Beach is a short walk down but a long walk back, but just a 2 min drive. You will enjoy our beach locker stocked with Boogie boards, beach chairs, snorkeling gear, ice chest. This is not your usual vacation rental this is our home for you to enjoy!

Hale Hanaunau ha a beautiful warm sun drenched hill side location in Kona Paradise overlooking the blue Pacific Ocean and a black lava field. The Black Pebble Beach (or Kona Paradise Beach) is a snorkel or divers delight (our party of 6 adults did both) and just a 20 minute walk or 5 minute drive from Hale Hanaunau.
Hale Hanaunau is a 5 star home delight. Two Lanai's offer ocean views and a third private Lanai had its own banana tree with fruit on it for picking. The gecko's are enchanting. The hardwood floors and staircase are extraordinarily beautiful, and insisted we honor the Hawaiian custom of removing our shoes at the door. The amenities were excellent as adverstised, great kitchen, barbeque/grill and family room. Wonderful bedrooms with baths and comfortable TV living room.
Oh I would be remiss if I didn't mention the lovely landscaping with beautiful plants and shrubs.
Group of 6 stayed for 5 nights. Upon arrival, you'll be greeted immediately with the steep slope onto the driveway. Not a big deal if you drive slow and careful.
The house was tidy and clean. This house had pretty much everything you needed, just like in your own home -- the kitchen had pots and pans in all sizes, plenty of plates/bowls/cups, knives and silverware, coffee machine, toaster, seasonings, dish soap, and trash bag. I couldn't find a scissor though -- even at my own home. The house was suppose to have drinking water stocked but it didn't. The water jugs in the garage were emptied too. Wasn't a big deal, we planned on getting water bottles ourselves.
During our stay, we saw a few cockroaches..but we saw cockroaches while in Waikiki as well. While on the patio, you'll see spiders, flies, mosquitoes, praying mantis, and geckos. Some of the group members got bit by bugs while sleeping.
We used the BBQ grill out on the patio for dinner one night. You can catch the sunset and it's beautiful during a clear day. The lighting in the patio is very dim. We ended up shinning all of our phones' light to finish grilling.
The location of the rental is about 45 minutes South of Kona; a tad bit further than I expected. It's definitely nice being away from all the noise but the nearest grocery store is about 20-30 minutes away depending on traffic. Make a shopping list so you're not stuck having to make multiple trips.
Overall, enjoyed my stay here. Felt like home.
This was our second time at this location, which is more representative of old and genuine Hawaii. We were three couples this time and enjoyed the house and location even more than last year. The 3-br. house is exceptional: it is very well furnished and has fabulous views. Beach gear is ample. The house is well looked after with an attentive caretaker and is generously stocked with staples and extras. The owner is very prompt in ensuring that information is timely and that everything is in order before arrival. There are many sights and beaches within easy distance. Surf was high this year, so swimming was more limited. We were fortunate to meet a local coffee grower at the community water station one day, and were privileged to spend a number of hours with him and his wife at their farm, sampling coffee and listening to local lore.
We will definitely consider returning to this property in future.

This house was perfect for my family. It was spotless when we arrived. It had everything we needed. The house was beautiful. We didn't want to leave. The only thing we didn't like about this house was the driveway. I HIGHLY recommend to rent a jeep or SUV if you rent this house. The driveway is very steep and you will scrape the muffler of the car. I would highly recommend this house to all my family and friends. We will definitely be back to this house in the future.
We’ve been renting houses all over the US when we vacation for the past 10 years, and this house was the most impressive house we've ever stayed at. We love this house! My husband, brother and sister-in-law all agree that it was spotless, had a fantastic view, was beautifully decorated and full of ‘extras’ like the welcome package of soap/lotion, the snorkeling fins and masks in the garage, the DVD library, the very nice linens, the giant shower and huge bath tub and ample pots, pans and dishes. Everything looked new and spotless. No detail was overlooked. The neighborhood was quiet and the beach/cove below the track was great. It was a great location for visiting Kona and great nearby snorkeling spots. The drive to the house is a little steep/intimidating, but once you get used to it, it's no big deal, even with a 4 cylinder car. I can’t wait to come back and stay again next fall!
We spent the weekend here and were so pleased with the home. We have two young daughters and it was perfect for kids - there were even some Disney movies and toys left over from previous renters. The home was very clean and very nicely decorated as well. Although it was about 30 minutes south of Kona, we loved the location. It was close to Ho'okena beach (a beautiful black sand beach) and staying there made visiting the south point sights much more doable. Both the owner and property caretaker were friendly and quick to respond. We live on the island on the east side and will definitely be coming back to this spot. Mahalo!
This was a beautiful home that my family enjoyed immensely. We had five wonderful nights at this home and it's exactly as described in the listing. It was beautifully maintained and had everything we needed for heading to the beach and snorkeling. The kitchen was great for making breakfasts or dinners and had everything you needed. There is a wonderful fruitstand on the main road to Kona and Patz Pies had amazing pizza. Also Donkey Balls had really yummy treats! Thank you for a wonderful place to stay!
