I was taken by the incredible views for both sides of the cabin the first time I saw it. The layout of the cabin is so well suited for large families or can be enjoyed as a small private getaway. We have large families and like to get together and have fun. With the large eating areas, we can cook together, watch movies or challenge each other in a fun activity in the game room.
The views in the rocking chairs off the 3200sf decks are breathtaking and since it backs up to the National Park; you can walk out the back door and hike all day without getting in your car....
We loved our time in the Wilderness Lodge. My husband and I enjoy the outdoors, and the location of the cabin, just minutes from the Greenbrier entrance to the Great Smokies National Park, was an unexpected plus. We hiked to the Ramsey Cascades, an eight-mile roundtrip, which leads to what we both agreed was the prettiest waterfall in the park. Back at the cabin, we could look out over the panoramic view of northern reaches of the Smokies and plot just where we had hiked that day.
My stepdaughter picked this lodge as the place she wanted to get married in, so her Mother and me reserved it for three days. This place is incredible and we were so excited when we pulled up the drive and got the first look at it. The home was spotless when we arrived and we didn't have any problems whatsoever. The views are incredible and the lodge itself is beautiful inside. We had the ceremony outside on the deck overlooking the mountain view. Our only disapointment was that we didn't see any bears. I wouild recomend this lodge for anyone
We stayed at Wilderness Lodge for my birthday. It was a perfect romantic getaway and a great place to celebrate!
We were contacted by a friendly, knowledgeable and very helpful gentleman upon booking our stay. He gave us impeccable directions and upon arrival we were greeted by 5 wild turkeys at the entrance to the property.
The cabin was sparkling clean and spacious. We enjoyed the majestic views and the posh decor that was both stylish and comfortable. The kitchen was spacious and well provisioned as described. The jacuzzi, home theater and gaming room made our stay one to remember. I would not hesitate to recommend this cabin to anyone. Our visit couldn't have been more relaxing, more comfortable or more welcoming. I can't wait to come again in the cooler months and enjoy relaxing in front of the fireplace.
Rented for a business/company management retreat. Could not have made a better decision. The property and magnificigant lodge was perfect and exceeded every expectation. Impeccibly clean. Property manager was fantastic, responsive to a couple of changes we needed to make and more than beyond helpful.
Views are spectacular. Star gazing at night unbelievable. Amenities including a "real" steam room, the kitchen, whirlpool tubs in every headroom, private bedroom access to balconies...etc...I could go on. If this is not the best slur and lodge in the Smoky Mountains National Park, I'll eat my hat (a bear almost did!).
My husband and I stayed at the lodge June 8-15 2014 for our wedding! We travelled from Ontario Canada in September 2013 to have a quick peek at the house.
The previous owners of this Lodge were AMAZING! We left that day so excited for our family and friends to join us in June! Closer to the date I could no longer get in touch with the owner and began to get very nervous as everything was booked and set and invites to the wedding had gone out! 4 weeks before departing I got a call saying the lodge had switched owners :( Having seen the lodge in person I wasn't to stressed as I knew it was stunning inside and out!
ARRIVAL DAY- Open the door and the security alarm goes off! Took 45 minutes to reach the owner and finally gave me the correct code, all while the alarm is blaring and the local police show up! Not a great start!
THE PROPERTY WAS NOT CLEAN AFTER INSPECTION! They have a cleaning crew consisting of a young couple, husband and wife??? For a property of this size!
Garbage's were over flowing!
Decks were very dirty and not swept
BBQ was nasty! Could not use until the cleaning crew came back to properly clean!
Broken pull out couch in one bedroom was left half put away, broken??
Floors were so dirty!(and yes the owner assured us he did a deep clean of the floors!! Ya right)
We were so upset and disappointed by the sight of this place and lack of concern from the owner who had such a poor attitude and kept telling us it was bought for his own family and not as a rental. However what he failed to understand is that people booked this place with the previous owners and he should honour the rental obligations he has until he takes it over solely as a vacation home for himself. Guests spend a lot of money and time to plan trips such as this and to just be brushed off because he bought it for his own use is unacceptable! I am happy that we stayed right after it had switched hands because I can't imagine the state of this place towards the end of his rental obligations :(We did have an amazing time staying here given all the issues, which there was far to many to list, and we are not picky people at all!!!! We had a group of 40 staying here and the house itself is stunning! The views are unreal! We had our wedding reception at the house and we had 60 guests who all stayed over that evening and more than enough room to accommodate everyone.GOOD LUCK TO ANYONE STAYING HERE!Paying that kind of money should get you better service!
My family of 20 spent Memorial weekend here to celebrate my parents' 60th wedding anniversary. Everyone was pretty overwhelmed with the beauty of the cabin, mountain views, and location. There were a few things that we had concerns with. The A/C didn't work the first night upstairs, but with a call to the owner, they fixed it the next day. The trash was full when we got there and not picked up until the following day. The wi-if wasn't very good and inconsistent. The outside fireplace wouldn't light. Only three burners would work on the stove. The porches were pretty dirty....must have been a wedding because there was birdseed all over the place which attracted our turkey friends! We couldn't get the elevator to work, but we never called about it and it was probably something I wasn't doing right. I do agree with the previous comment regarding the bedding....something about sleeping on potato chips. I do know that this cabin had recently changed ownership and we arrived in the middle of the transition....and transition isn't always easy. I will give the owner the benefit of the doubt. He seemed to want to try and address our concerns in a timely way. We were only here three days (which I see that the minimum has changed to five days). With all that said, my family had a great time being together, sitting on the porch, cooking on the grill, and especially enjoying the fire pit at night! The location and mountain views of this lodge cannot be beat!
