|Minimum Stay||3 nights|
The apartment has a wonderful view of Piazza della Quercia and Piazza Capo di Ferro, facing the beautifully decorated renaissance XVI century palace named ''Palazzo Spada''. It is at the 2nd floor of a XVI century building (no lift). It can host a maximum of 8 people and is just few steps from Piazza Farnese (site of the French Embassy), Campo de'Fiori and Piazza Navona. The Colosseum is at fifteen minutes walking. Vatican city and St. Peter's church are ten minutes walking, just across the Tevere river. The location is fantastic and the apartment is very sunny and comfortable.
In the surrounding is plenty of shops, groceries, restaurants and wine bars.
Location: Fantastic. It has many windows viewing on the renaissance, beautifully decorated Palazzo Spada. The small square, piazza della Quercia, hosts a small ancient church (S.Maria della Quercia) and is named after the old tree (la quercia, in italian, which means oak) which gives shadow to people walking in the square. The house location is quiet, although very close to all possible shops, restaurants and attractions.
The house: The apartment is 100 sq meters wide. It has a living room, three bedrooms, one kitchen and two bathrooms (one with a shower, the other with a tub).
One of the bedrooms has a beautifully painted ceiling; another bedroom and the living room have wooden ceilings.
All the bedrooms have air conditioning; wireless internet connection and flat TV set are available in the large living room. The washing machine is in the bathroom. The kitchen is fully equipped, including microwave oven and dishwasher. In the whole house there is an efficient heating.
This is a relatively nice apartment in a fantastic location. It is near wonderful plazas with great restaurants where you get to hang out, and eat, like locals. Living in this neighborhood for a week is getting to experience life in Rome in a way you don't with a big hotel. It is also well situated to to tourist attractions. I give this the highest ratings on location.
The apartment itself is good, but not great. I don't think it was "fabulous" as some of these reviews suggest. The owner and staff are very nice people who work hard. But renters should know that even though they work hard, they seem to have too many properties to provide the highest level of service. Many things didn't work when we arrived. The washing machine didn't work, the electricity kept going out when we used the air conditioning with other appliances (and you have to find and flip the switch in the dark), and the shower drain was clogged up and didn't drain. Also, the shower head was clogged so water came out in a trickle.
The owner DID make efforts to fix things when we complained. The washing machine (which we had counted on to wash clothes when we arrived) was fixed by the 3rd day, and on the 3rd day he also paid for some of our clothes to be cleaned because I kept complaining that we had arrived in Rome with all dirty clothes and had been counting on using the washing machine to wash all our clothes. It was not pleasant to wear dirty clothes for 3 days. He also had the shower drain cleaned on the 3rd day. The shower head was never fixed.
I had asked him about parking before arriving, and he said there was none. So I arranged and paid for a private garage nearby to keep our car. But when we arrived he said there was free parking in the nearby plaza by the french embassy. Why didn't he tell me this before we arrived and I went through all the trouble to find a parking garage, reserve a spot and pay in advance?
When we left, we accidentally left a blanket in the apartment....it was an important blanket that we got for our wedding that had been with us all around the world on every trip we have taken together. We could not get them to send it to us, even though we offered to pay them for shipping, etc. I realize they are not required to do this. It was our fault for leaving the blanket. I just give this as an example that they are very busy and don't provide the greatest level of service if a problem arises.
My name is Piero. I reserved this apt. on VRBO and have been there for a 3 day vacation with my family of 4. Both the owner at level of reservation and setting of the rental and the key holder were very kind at helpful. The house is neast, exceptionally located in and facing a beautiful renaissance palace. Everything is at walking distance, and you may enjoy restaurants, coffeee shops, places to drink outdoor. Just great and strongly suggested.
The location of this apartment was absolutely perfect. It’s around the corner from the Campo dei Fiori, where we bought fresh produce at the outdoor market most days. The campo is also lined with restaurants, bakeries, and pizza-by-the-slice places—there was no need to go farther for our meals. The apartment was an ideal base for all our sightseeing too; no major sight is far off. Nights could be noisy, but that’s the price you pay for such a great location.
The apartment itself served the needs of our family of four well. The beds and sofas were comfortable, the showers were hot, and there was plenty of room to spread out. The kitchen, though not large, was great for assembling casual meals and preparing picnics—we didn’t really try cooking. One shower door was off its rails when we arrived, but we pointed it out to the manager, and I assume it will be fixed soon. All in all, we feel very lucky to have stayed in the Quercia apartment.
My family stayed here 2 nights and we liked this apartment very much. The only complaint that I have is that it was very noisy on Saturday night. This apartment is located on a square and peoples voices are amplified. It was great to be close to Piazza Navona.
I have been traveling in Italy for a month and decided to stay for a week in Rome. I found on VRBO this apartment and chose it also looking at the reviews. It was a great choice: the apartment is at second floor of a 17th century building; most of the windows face on a little romantic square (piazza della Quercia) and face the magnificent Palazzo Spada. The location is excellent: 50 meters to Campo de' Fiori, 50 meters to Piazza Farnese, 150 meters to Piazza Navona, full of restaurants, bars, wineries. Great and, important!, you can sleep quiet the night because the square it is not on the main stream of people nightime. The apartment itself is confortable (we were 6, 2 adults and 4 children), with everything is needed (the wifi works well...), full of light at daytime.
In addition, the owner is kind and efficient and the key holder, who speaks a good English, very collaborative and professional. It is definitely a very good place to stay, and I suggest it warmly.
very centrally located apartment. right next to campo di fiori and navonna. apartment is fairly outdated but nothing to complain about. can sleep 8 adults comfortably. on the 2nd floor no elevator, keep that in mind.no problems with heating or hot water everything was working fine. if you'll have a car, really hard to find public parking around the neighborhood and private parking is 30€ per night. overall really satisfied with the stay. (4 adults & 2 kids (age3)
The apartment is at the 2nd floor of a XVII century building. It can host up to 8 people with cot available. It has a wonderful view on Piazza della Quercia and faces the beautifully decorated renaissance (XV century) palace named “Palazzo Spada”, hosting the grand art collection Galleria Spada and housing, also, the Italian Council of State. The location is excellent, one fo the best you can find in the historycal center of Roma, 50 meters from Piazza Farnese, 50 meters from Campo de' Fiori, 150 meters from Piazza Navona, 200 meters from Tevere river. St. Peter's cathedral is reachable by a 10 minutes quiet walk. All the beauties of the renaissance Roma is around.
Restaurants, wine bars, cocktayl bars, pubs, theaters, pharmacies, post offices, and any kind of shops are in a radius of 100 meters. Everyday in campo de' Fiori there is the famous flowers, vegetable (and other) public market.
Other Activities: Monument watching
Golf: There are many golf courts in Roma, all within 20 driving from the apartment.
