The lodge is situated within our private Ranch on just under 1,000 acres. During your stay you will experience frequent visits by the abundant wildlife just outside your door. You will have access to the private trails on the ranch to do all the exploring and discovering you wish. The accommodations are very comfortable and well appointed. You will be able to sit on the deck sipping your morning coffee while watching deer just across the pond.
The master suite is comfortably furnished with a king bed and a private bath. The second suite has a queen bed as well as a private bath. The other two guest rooms have queen/full size beds and share a full bath. All the beds have Comphy Sheets to help you sleep after a long day of adventures. There is a separate heated building just outside to store all your gear and toys.
The kitchen is fully equipped with all the utensils and cookware you would need to prepare a family barbecue or gourmet meal. We can also arrange for a private chef or catered meal if you choose to do so.
We will provide a book listing all the highlights in our area. In the immediate area there are several activities. We have groomed cross country ski trails on the ranch, and nearby there are several more miles. If you would rather downhill ski we can provide lift tickets, so you can go right to the mountain and not have to wait in any lines. Within a 10 minute drive we have more then 7 golf courses. There is canoeing, shopping, boating, fishing, a spa and several other things to enjoy.
It is a great destination for families or couples who want a relaxing quiet get away or a real adventure. Check out the Ranch's website www.drettmannranch.com.
We stayed at the Lodge at the end of June for a few days while exploring Northern Michigan, and had an exceptional visit. The accommodations were very comfortable, private and unbelievably CLEAN. The lodge is set on a generous parcel of natural woodlands, giving you the feeling that you're far, far away from the city. The immediate property surrounding the lodge is beautifully landscaped and maintained, with good dirt roads for access by car, and secured with an entry gate system. There is a lovely pond that you can see from the lodge window, which draws an assortment of interesting wildlife. I can imagine how amazing it would be to watch the deer on a snowy winter's day! We'd like to make a return visit when the seasons change. I wish we'd had more time to hike the trails a bit. The kitchen is complete and has everything you can possibly imagine...from coffee in the morning to carefully chosen wines, and nuts for later in the day. The thing we liked BEST, were the gracious hosts, who welcomed us, spent time telling us about the things we might want to do in the area, and were attentive to any need. It felt like being with family... only better! Definitely will return for a longer stay.
