No frills stay, perfect for our group
Good location--convenient to tram, bus, grocer, ice cream shop, local brewery RASCALS, and local pub--The Black Lion is the best! The space was clean, reasonable price, quick response from owner when asked any questions....and we asked alot! Owner recommended a driver for airport transportation and that worked beautifully. We were 4 adults and the space was just right for us. As Americans, we of course are used to larger shower stalls, yet 'SMALL' is the way in Europe, as you know if you travel there. Bath towels could have been heftier. Modest amount of kitchen accessories, so don't plan a feast while you are there, but honestly we had full days planned and didn't spend much time in the cottage other than to sleep, so again it was just right for us.

Ireland 2023
The location of the cottage was perfect. The bus to city center was at the front door. When we were ready ro drive, motorway access was also very easy. We loved the extra space in the evenings. We couldn't get the heat on but Valerie fixed that quickly..The wifi password emailed to me was incorrect but we found the correct one in the binder. I wish the binder had been left on the dining table so we would have found it earlier. The incomplete tile work in the half bath was dirty with exposed holes in the wall. But I would rent this unit again.

Inchicore, Family (ideal for 5 persons, not 7
The cottage was perfect for our group of 7 . We needed a place which was very close to our daughter and her family of 2 young boys ages: 1 and 3. Valerie, the property manager, was superb in assisting us for many issues, during our stay. A replacement for the dishwasher arrived the next day of us complaining. We were delighted. We rented the place for 3 weeks, as we had all travelled from Australia, Germany and Canada. The floors creek quite a lot and you can hear anyone walking accross the dining room to access the kitchen. The carpets need to be replaced (new carpet already purchased) and some of the plumbing need to be at a better standard. Hot taps on the left, cold taps to the right of a basin. Drainage in the smaller bathroom shower is not so good, the water pressure very poor. The fact there is plenty of room to park and the automatic gate is really good if you have children playing outside. We also enjoyed a BBQ. Our daughter was able to access the cottage , prior to our arrival, and provided us with all the basic necessities, such as coffee; tea; milk; cereals; fresh produce etc. That was very helpful. The BBQ was brought in from my daughter's place too. The disposal of garbage/ recycling bins area, etc is a bit messy. But on the whole, we all had a great time together

I'm Gráinne, originally from Co. Kildare and raised in a small family run hotel. I am married to Tim who is now retired from An Garda Siochána (Irish Police). Tim and I purchased this property in 1986 and lived here for a number of years until our family grew and we needed to relocate. We loved living in this area and have many happy memories of our first home here. I have consistently worked in the hospitality industry and always wanted to provide holiday accommodation here as I felt this to be an ideal location. I have been lucky enough to have realized my dream. I pay particular attention to detail and set the highest of standards in cleanliness and customer care. Our aim is to ensure that you really feel at home and comfortable in our apartment and we will endeavor to assist you in any way with any aspect of your vacation, so that you get the most out of your trip to Dublin. We are at the end of the phone 24 hours a day if you need any assistance. Assuring you of our best attention.

Why they chose this property

We chose this location because of close proximity to downtown Dublin. We loved the period red brick property with large rooms. Fantastic large enclosed rear

What makes this property unique

The most unique benefit is the location. Only 10 minutes from downtown Dublin with that real at home feeling when you arrive back after your day out. In the Summer time, we enjoyed many barbeques out back, and found it peaceful and quiet. One huge benefit and highly unusual in a city apartment is the amount of both indoor and outdoor space.
