About Dale & Elizabeth Churchett

My family and I enjoy sports and recreation, especially skiing. We love traveling together and recently had a fantastic time at the London 2012 Olympics, which is near where I grew up in England.

Dale & Elizabeth Churchett purchased this condo in 2011
Why Dale & Elizabeth Churchett chose Prospector Square

We have been coming to Park City to ski for over 10 years and it can't be beaten for the quality of the ski resorts and how fast you can get on the slopes after landing in Salt Lake City.

I stayed at our condo a year before we bought it, so when it came up for sale it was an easy decision. We are very excited to have a place in Park City and also love using it in the Summer and Autumn when the mountains are so beautiful.

What makes this condo unique

Our condo is close to the slopes, cozy and comfy and just the right size for a sleep and ski condo. After a long day in the snow we enjoy putting on a movie and resting up together.

Park City is an attractive resort town in the Wasatch Mountains, located just 32 miles east of Salt Lake City. Once a center for silver mining, Park City transformed itself in the mid-twentieth century to a skiing mecca and tourist hot spot. These days Park City draws in millions of visitors each year. Three excellent ski resorts are minutes from downtown: Park City Mountain Resort, The Canyons, Deer Valley.

Park City is known for a wide variety of activities - Ski, Snowboard, Snowshoe, Cross Country Skiing, Mountain Biking,, Hiking, Golf, Performing Arts Events (Sundance Film Festival), Outdoor Concerts, Fishing

Other Activities: Skateboarding, Cross country ski, Snowshoeing, Tubing, Ice Skating

Golf: Consistently ranked as one of the premier public golf courses in the inter-mountain region, Park City Golf Club offers a challenging game at one of the state's most enviable locations. In addition to providing professionally designed and well kept greens, Park City Golf Club's elevation of 6700 feet can actually add distance to your shots while you play on a course that is typically 10 to 15 degrees cooler than most courses in the area-a definite bonus during the hot summer months.

Ski: Park City has three of the best ski resorts in the country right on its doorstep. Park City Mountain Resort (1.7 miles), The Canyons (4.3 miles) and Deer Valley (4.8 miles) offer abundant terrain for every level of skiier. With over 300 annual inches of the famous Utah Powder, these resorts are must visit locations. Park City has an amazing public transport system that will get you to the mountains in no time, and for free!

Deer Valley has been voted the #1 ski resort in North America four years in a row and has 6 mountains, an excellent ski school and in the summer provides lift access for hiking and mountain biking. The Canyons features 9 mountains and the only heated/covered 'bubble' chair lift in North America. Park City offers night skiing as well as a massive amount of terrain for all levels.

Ask about free ski passes and take advantage of local knowledge for the best rentals and resorts out of Park City (Alta, Snowbird, Solitude, Brighton ... the list goes on).

Great Studio

Submitted: January 5, 2013 Stayed: December 2012
Wife and I rented this studio for a quick New Years ski trip. The unit was clean and comfortable. Like a large hotel room but with more amenities like fridge, burners, toaster, microwave toaster oven...kitchen table. Small Kitchenette allowed us to cook breakfast and basic meals in the the evening and the building is right next to the free bus line that runs every 10 min, making for easy access to Main St, all of the Ski Resorts, grocery and anyplace else you need to go. The owner is super responsive/ attentive and answered all questions quickly. I would rent this unit again.

Perfect for skiing any resort around Park City

5 of 5
Submitted: December 18, 2012 Stayed: December 2012
A great deal and conveniently located. The free bus system in Park City makes getting around easy and there is a stop in front of the condos. Catch the 8:13 Yellow bus and you will be making fresh tracks at Deer Valley when it opens at nine. We rented our skis from Park City Ski Valet (Dale's recommendation) and they delivered directly to the condo making the trip that much easier. The hot tub was a nice way to end each day.
Owner's Response: Park City does indeed have a fantastic shuttle service. The yellow shuttle runs every 20 minutes starting from 13 mins past the hour and the Red bus runs every 20 mins starting from 03 past the hour. You can get to Park City Mountain Resort, Deer Valley or The Canyons via the Main Street stop. The bus stop is 200 yards away from our front door.

great room!

3 of 5
Submitted: August 8, 2012 Stayed: August 2012
The condo was good and the room was very clean and a comfortable bed is always a PLUS! However the pool on premesis was small, and the hot tub was under construction. The parking after dark sucked and the front desk crew was clueless and hard to understand (accent). The "day spa" was GREAT even if you had to pay extra to get in. All in all I would give it a 6 out of 10. Just stay indoors and watch movies or go to the spa...all the other anemities were just a disappointment.
Owner's Response: The summer off-peak season is generally when some maintenance is done around the conference center but I'm glad you took advantage of the day spa facilities.
There is parking for one car per condo in the conference center and the parking is within the complex.

After following up with our guest I found out there was an Arts Festival on in Park City that night, and lots of people had come in from out of town and parked anywhere they could. While that was was very inconvenient I can understand why the conference center could not have towed all those cars. I will, however, talk to the front desk to try and ensure our guests can always park and what can be done to address that issue.

I will also pass on the comments about the staff to the manager of the front desk.

Prospector Square Condo

The condo is in a great location and is very reasonably priced. It is simple, but very clean and is definitely enough space for 2 people. It is conveniently located right next to a bus stop (Park City has free transportation to major ski resorts and Main Street.) which was nice since we didn't get a rental car. We were also able to get an early check in with no extra fee. Overall, I was happy with our experience.

The only complaint was that the property staff were not very accommodating and wanted to charge $ for pool towels.
Recommended for:  Adventure Seekers, Tourists without a Car
Owner's Response: Pool towels are available at the front desk for a small fee of $2.50. We apologize if this was not made clear. We have refunded these charges as a gesture of goodwill.
