CrossHaven Farm is one of the Mad River Valley's most scenic properties. The farm runs for 1-1/2 miles along the Mad River and has been pictured in calendars, newspapers and magazine articles. Travel up Rt 100b the Vermont scenic highway in the heart of the Green Mountains, turn onto the old bridge that crosses the river, and enter the solitude and beauty of CrossHaven Farm.

Crosshaven Cottage is nestled between the home and barns, with lawns, riding arena and the river in front, and hillside pastures and forests with trails, behind. The trails, river access, wildlife, excellent birding, and scenery all offer opportunities explore while here.

The cottage is fully updated with an open kitchen / living / dining area, one bedroom and the bath on the first floor. The second floor is a loft bedroom. About 700 sq. ft. in total. Sleeps 4 in two doubles.

Fully equipped with a stove, microwave, full refrigerator, coffee maker and cabinets. Great front porch for relaxing.

CrossHaven Kennels: CrossHaven has been breeding show-winning English-style Labrador Retrievers for over 20 years. So, when you come the CrossHaven, be prepared for a warm welcome -- and perhaps a morning bark or two -- from the labs.

Notes: CrossHaven Cottage is located on a working farm. It is well equipped, but pretty much a 'fend for yourself' accommodation. By that we mean that there is no wait-staff or housekeeping other than when guest depart. We will do everything we can to be hospitable and love getting to know our guests. But, the animals have to eat, the hay has to be cut, and so on. We prefer couples / friends who will appreciate the specialness of CrossHaven Farm and enjoy its beauty and access to many of the wonderful attractions in the Mad River / Stowe / Montpelier area -- and beyond throughout Vermont.

Spring Getaway

We booked the cottage for 2 couples for a spring skiing getaway. The cottage was situated 15-20 minutes from Sugarbush and Mad River Glen and was also not far from Waterbury, which had some nice dining options. The house was perfect for 2 couples and we appreciated having the kitchen (and coffee was supplied!) to enjoy breakfast before hitting the slopes. The beds were comfortable and the cottage was very well-maintained overall. The setting was also lovely. Would definitely recommend it to others and may even return in the future as we had such a great time in the area!

Great place to stay, with lovely hosts!

We rented this great cabin last weekend, staying with two of our friends from Maine. The cabin had plenty of room for four people, a good size kitchen, and it was very clean. It's on a very large farm, with plenty of trails for hiking/snowshoeing and sledding (they even provide the sleds). There are many restaurants in the area (check out American Flatbread), and only 20 minutes from SugarBush and Mad River Glen. Best of all are Pat and Scott, the lovely hosts. They really make sure your stay is great, and had great recommendations of stuff to do in the area. So overall, this cabin was a perfect place to stay at a more than perfect price. I would recommend to anyone looking to stay here.

Beautiful, Comfortable, Wonderful!

We stayed at Crosshaven Cottage for a long weekend with our two youngest children. We were close to the many winter activities in nearby Sugarbush and had a wonderful time, both at the cottage and in the area.

The cottage was much larger inside than it appeared on-line. We had plenty of space for the four of us to spread out, yet enjoy one another's company. The kitchen was more than adequate to fix the meals we ate in. There was plenty of heat and hot water despite the cold temperatures and the storm (Nemo). Everything was clean and in great condition throughout the cottage and property.

The owners were wonderful, clearing the snow from the paths and providing our children the sleds and space to play outside. The farm is beautiful and we would not hesitate to return winter or summer.

My family and I needed a special spot to spend for Christmas...the charming guest cottage was just what we needed. Our hosts made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. The cottage was immaculate and exactly as it appeared in the pictures. The horse barn and wooded acreage were a beautiful backdrop to the buildings. I would highly recommend this cottage to others, only, I don't want it to become too popular, as we hope to return. Dinner at Michael's on the Hill was top notch...beautifully decorated and excellent food. The cottage is equadistant from both Stowe in one direction and Sugarbush in the other.
Recommended for:  Sightseeing, Families with Teenagers, Families with Young Children, Romantic Getaway

A perfect Vermont getaway

This was the perfect spot for our Vermont visit!
Pat & Scott were very welcoming hosts and the property and cottage are just perfect. The cottage actually felt considerably larger than we'd expected which was a nice surprise. It really was the perfect home base for our few days. We spent evenings on the porch or walking around the beautiful trails or making dinner.
During the day we were only 5 minutes from a great little cafe and just 15 minutes from either Montpelier or Waterbury when we felt like exploring.
I'd stay here again in a heartbeat if I make it back to Vermont.
