Overview

Santa Fe House Rental Photos and Description

3 bdrm/3 bath main house and attached 2 bdrm guest house with shared bath

This comfortable and roomy adobe home is ideal for a group of friends or a large family. It is located at the end of a secluded dead-end street with lovely private gardens, outdoor eating areas with views toward the mountains. This is a real oasis located about 1/2 way between the Plaza and Museum Hill in the historic Eastside.

The main house has 3 large bedrooms (king, queen and two twins) each with their own bath and fireplace. The attached guest house is a two bedroom that sleeps 4, but only has one bath that must be shared. This guest house is very comfortable with its own kitchen, private entry and separate garden. There is access between the main house and guest house if desired, or they can be kept separate.

This is a unique and beautiful home with historic significance. It is tastefully decorated and has an open feel with the touches that are typical of older adobe homes like plaster walls, nichos, wooden-beamed ceilings and a kiva fireplace in every room.

You will have a feeling of old Santa Fe, but the home has all the modern conveniences as the result of an extensive remodel in 2011. The beds and linens are top quality and new. All of the appliances in the main house are new and the home has all the amenities like wireless internet and premium cable TV. The home decor is a blend of our Southwest roots (I'm from California and Jane is from south Texas) and our adopted Thai homeland where I work as a geologist. Jane is an artist and most of the artwork on the walls are naturally her own. The home is comfortable in all seasons with radiant heating and evaporative cooling (for a touch of humidity).

This house is a unique property in the heart of Santa Fe's Historic Eastside. We are proud to share this home and know you'll like it as much as we do.

Fabulous house, casita, view, location. 10++++

  • 5 of 5

Pictures are gorgeous -- but not nearly as gorgeous as the property and the facility! View is breathtaking day and night! Property manager, Scott Wong, had everything prepared. The house and casita are beautifully decorated, has high end amenities, is fully equipped - even provided wood for the 5 kivas. Location is superb. Easy walk to town or Canyon Road. Looking forward to

Spring Break next year so our family of 10 can again be treated to the Best of Santa Fe!

A gorgeous property in a great location!

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I brought our parents for a Santa Fe vacation. We stayed in the main house and fell in love with it. It's tastefully appointed and comfortable in a way that made us want to spend time there. In fact, even though much of the allure of Santa Fe lies in the wonderful restaurants, we found ourselves gathered around the giant square dining table of the house for most of our meals.

Pros: feels secluded yet is close to downtown, every bedroom has a fireplace (firewood provided!) and its own bathroom, master suite is huge and secluded, outdoor spaces are beautiful, kitchen is amazing

Cons: --I'm nitpicking, because this place is pretty much perfect-- bed in master suite is extra firm (we used the bedding to soften it a bit), a hot tub would be a plus but there are 2 large bathtubs, front door lock mechanism is confusing, combination of radiant heat and strip heaters is confusing to control (maybe more explicit labeling of the thermostats?)

Overall, this house is just amazing and ideally located. No one was in the casita during our stay, but there is so much space that I don't imagine it would have been a distraction if it had been occupied.

Owner's Response: Dear Family N. We appreciate nitpicking just as much as your compliments. We don't plan to get a hot tub, but you are the second person to mention this. I'll get a cushiony mattress cover for those that like soft beds and make sure that all the thermostats are labelled (some are, but obviously not all). Once you get used to the front-door lock you'll like the solid feel and security, however Jane has never gotten used to it and wants me to get a different door lock too. You aren't the only one that feels that way. We are glad that you enjoyed your stay and really appreciate your comments and kind words. If you come back again and rent the main house separately you won't likely find someone in the casita. That's only happened once in four years. When we are there for the summer we have family that stay in the casita and we never hear or see them until meal time. Look forward to welcoming you again, Roger G.

Wonderful!

This was a return trip to Casa Nova for our family of ten. Once again, the home was exceptional, and as always beautifully appointed and equipped. We had a lot of snow and found an ample supply of wood for every kiva. A wonderful family holiday.

Very nice house, great location, great views

  • 5 of 5

This is a very nice, very well stocked house. The kitchen was very large and up to date. We would have enjoyed it more if we had not eaten most of our meals at the wonderful restaurants of Santa Fe. Maria's was one of my wife and I's favorites. The house accommodated our family of 6 perfectly. Our 4 boys enjoyed all aspects of the house. The older two, 15 and 11 liked the living room for watching TV and playing cards and games in the evenings. Our 3 y/o loved playing with his trucks in the back and the house had plenty of room for our 10 month old to crawl around and explore. My wives parents joined us and stayed in the Casita and it was a perfect space for them. We all loved sitting in the back in the evening and enjoying the fire pit while talking over the day and I loved the windows in the living room and master bedroom for watching sunrises over the snow capped mountains. The house has a very private feel, you would never know there were other homes around you if you didn't have to dive by them to get to the home.

With the cooler weather we were unable to walk anywhere but it would have been very easy even with the little ones in tow. The house is very close to the Plaza and some amazing restaurants.

We called Scott, the property manager for some small things and he was prompt and great to work with. We arrived at check in and he had everything set up for us and the instructions to the house were simple and accurate. Allowed for us to start our vacation as soon as we arrived.

I would definitely recommend this property to anyone going to Santa Fe. The entire family agreed that when we come back we would love to stay here again.

Perfect choice

  • 5 of 5

This charming casita was perfect for our vacation. It was close to the historic Santa Fe Plaza and the Canyon Rd art galleries. We chose to drive to the Plaza but could have walked. We did walk to Canyon Rd & avoided the hassle of parking and traffic on a busy art walk evening. The property was very clean, well equipped and maintained, tastefully decorated, and had a very comfortable bed. However, what we liked best about the casita was the atmosphere. Even though this property is in the heart of Santa Fe, it has the feelilng of being in the country. It's in a very quaint neighborhood with adobe homes tucked away along narrow passages, perfect for taking a leisurely walk. There are incredible views from the living room and bedroom of the mountains & the beautiful Santa Fe landscape. It was peaceful & relaxing to come in from a long day of sightseeing & sit out on the patio & enjoy a beautiful Santa Fe evening. We did not use the 2 fireplaces but we would like to come back in the winter, hopefully when it is snowing. I'm an outside person but I would love to be stuck inside snuggled up on the comfortable sofa with a good book, occasionally gazing out the big picture window. Bottom line, you won't be disappointed with this property.

Owner's Response: Thank you Dr. M. for taking the time to write such a nice review. If there was something you didn't mention that would have made your stay better, please write a quick note to Scott and we'll do our best to make the Casita an even nicer place to stay. If not...then great, we'll look forward to seeing you again when the snow falls. Roger and Jane.

Our house is located exactly 1 mile from the downtown Plaza and closer to Canyon Road. It is an easy walk for most people in good physical condition, but the altitude (the elevation at our house is 7200') makes it harder to catch your breath if you aren't acclimated. The elevation at the plaza is 6955'. This 245' difference is about the same that you experience walking up Canyon Road to visit the art galleries. If you go slowly the walk will take you 30 minutes downhill and 45 minutes to return...well worth the time. When my parents visit (early 80's), they walk downhill from the house to the Plaza and we pick them up near Loretta Chapel.
