We were two families of 3 (2 moms, 2 dads, and 2 girls 8 and 10) vacationing together.
When we stepped into this fabulous house we breathed a sigh of relief. We had just driven down from Orlando after 3 hectic days of theme parks and had stayed in an "adequate" rental.
The house is easy to find and private, yet very close to every amenity you need. The photos really don't do it justice. It was very clean and Lynne and Mark were available and close by if we needed them (we didn't). The kitchen had everything we could need or want and we did cook most of our meals at home.
Just an FYI for anyone that's interested; the king bedroom and the twin queen room share a bathroom and the single queen room has its own ensuite. We didn't have a problem with this, just information.
We visited the Dolphin Rescue Center about 15 minutes drive north, where the girls got into the water to meet a dolphin ($120 each). They were sooo excited!
We drove down to Key West. It's a little over an hour drive and I recommend the burger at Schooners. I'm glad we went in the off-season, I hear it can be crazy.
We were going to rent a boat but that darn Hurricane Sandy left the water too choppy for most of our week. Luckily for us, the huge tide-pool stayed calm and provided a safe haven for swimming and even kayaking! It was murky due to the high winds, but very swimmable. Bring your snorkel and mask.
Other than the windy days, the weather was lovely and warm. The screened patio is great place to hang out in the evening to play cards or just sit around and chat, margaritas in hand (the blender in the kitchen is very good for making margaritas!).
We would recommend this home and we would stay here again in a heartbeat.

Owner's Response: You are very resourceful, kayaking in the lagoon when the Gulf was too windy ! Two or three strokes in the kayak and you'd be to the other side of the lagoon, one would think. It is obvious you all had a great attitude, making the most of the high winds. We are thankful you were able to enjoy the lagoon and that the hurricane stayed off shore. Other guests have visited the dolphin center to swim with the Dolphins and remarked that it was the highlight of their children's trip. This is on our bucket list for our children. We look forward to your return visit next time you visit the Keys !
