About Siesta Key Beach;

Siesta Key Beach is Sarasota's gateway to the sparkling waters of the Gulf of Mexico, an island that combines luxurious amenities with a relaxed vibe that appeals to both visitors and locals.

On the east side of this eight-mile long barrier island is Sarasota Bay and Florida's intracoastal waterway. It's a scenic trail for boaters interested in exploring the mangrove forests that dot the area, dropping a line for snook or pompano, or cruising to Sarasota's dockside restaurants and pubs. On the island's west side are Siesta Key's glorious white sand beaches -- ranked number one in America in 2011 by Dr. Beach -- and the calm waters of the Gulf. Take an early morning walk while dipping your toes in the surf; build sand castles, search for shells and soak up the warm sunshine in the afternoon; then find a comfortable spot in to view the postcard-perfect moment when the sun dips below the horizon and paints the sky in strokes of red and orange.

Down at the south end of Siesta Key you'll find more restaurants, shops and public beaches, as well as marina, fishing charters, and boat rental facilities. Within minutes, you can putter in a pontoon boat or slice through waves in a high-powered jet ski. Try parasailing for more high-flying adventure, where you'll experience a unique view of Siesta Key while suspended from a parachute over 100 feet in the air. Or exercise more than just your sense of wonder by renting a bike or a kayak to explore the island on your own.

Down at Siesta Beach, the aqua blue water comes gently from the Gulf. Unlike the rough mechanical waters of the Atlantic or Pacific, it comes to the shore licking the sand with a perpetual caress.

Visitors and locals alike, slowly stride the beach mornings, throughout the sundrenched days, and into the post sunset hour. Here they stand, mesmerized by the sky curving down to the invisible seam where the sun slowly recedes into the next day.

Standing there, as this day slips into the horizon, many take pictures, but most emblazon the spectacle into their memory, ever cognizant that this special event is amongst the most relaxing times of their lives, they will surely recall who they were with.

Come join us for a truly tropical experience right here in Sarasota at Siesta Key, the enchanted island.

There's more to Siesta Key than just beaches and water. This island is a destination for all who stay or live in the Sarasota area thanks to the wide variety of entertainment and dining options that stretch its length. On the north end, a short walk from one of Siesta's large expanses of public beach, lies Siesta Key Village. Siesta Key Village restaurants -- most with large, open-air dining -- range from pancake and egg joints to award-winning fine dining spots. Guestbook comments from the owner

I hope everything was in its proper place. We didn't have any problems with anything and truly enjoyed the location of your home. Other than a couple of the nights being a little cooler than expected all in all it was a great vacation. Thanks again and hope to get down there again in the coming year. We just got hit with 8 inches of snow today and the temperatures in the teens. Maybe I should have booked Christmas too! We just received our $500 security deposit in the mail.

Great location, excellent for two couples and 2 kids.

  • 5 of 5
We spent a week here in November. The house was as advertised, close to the beach (3 minute walk), well appointed with all that two grandparents, Mom and Dad and two children could need. Lots of sleeping arrangements and the beds were comfortable. The drive in to the village took 5 minutes tops and the walk was an easy 20 minutes with a stroller. Owners were available as needed but certainly not obtrusive. Pool was nice when we decided not to go to the beach. There were beach toys for the kids which was nice. Really enjoyed sitting on the roof in the evenings having a barbecue.
Also the restaurants in Siesta Key are really good!
I would certainly recommend this property.

Great Location, comfortable home, attentive owners

  • 5 of 5
We rented this home in Siesta Key for a "girl's 50th birthday vacation away". The location was a 5 minute walk to the beach with easy access to Siesta Key Village. There was plenty of sleeping space for 6 of us and we took advantage of the pool and rooftop patio. This is a quiet neighborhood. The owner's were very easy to work with and were timely in their communications with us. We would easily return to this property for another vacation.

Siesta Key Second Time Around

  • 5 of 5
My family and I stayed in Siesta Key for the first time in October, 2011. Now that the twins are old enough to enjoy the beach we just came back for a winter break in April 2014. This rental home was beautiful! The pictures only show some of the beauty. Very clean and well equipped. We especially appreciated the shallow pool are for the kids to enjoy while we relaxed overlooking the pool. When I was checking rentals on line I sent out a few inquiries and the owner of this property was the first to respond. She was always very helpful and prompt with any answers I needed. Everything was in working order and we truly enjoyed our stay. Siesta Key was as beautiful as we remembered. The beach was wonderful and the village was great. Lots of great restaurants. We enjoyed the Salty Dog and the Siesta Key Oyster Bar. This home is very close to everything, just a bit of a walk to the village. There was plenty of free parking at the beach when we choose to drive. I would highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a relaxing and very comfortable stay near the beach but in a quieter neighborhood than condos on the beach in this beautiful home.

This property was amazing

  • 5 of 5
• We stayed at this property from March 12-19, 2011 and loved the property and the service we received. Everything was updated and in great condition. All the rooms were furnished very nicely and the house was very clean. We were met at the house by Susan & Bob and made to feel very welcome and appreciated. She took the time to walk through the house with us and explain many of the homes features and how to operate them (which was great). She also left contact numbers in case there were any emergency or general needs. The next day (Sunday) I saw them back checking the pool and mentioned that we wanted to pay the optional charge for the pool heater. Bob turn it on and the next day the pool was up to 82 degrees. This immediate service is unheard of but is reflective of the kind of hospitality we received during our stay. This was our 1st time to Siesta Key and our group of 7 (4 kids and 3 adults) loved it. We walked into the village every day/night and ate in town on 3 different occasions (if you don't count going to Big Olaf's ice cream shop every day eating)? We highly recommend the peel and eat shrimp at The Old Salty Dog as they were fantastic. The people were friendly and the area is family oriented, which is very important to us. You really would not have to get back in the car after arriving if you don't mind walking a bit. We did venture out one night and went to St. Armand’s Circle (9 miles & about 20 minutes by car from the house), which was also a great experience and something we would recommend to others in this area. Great shopping, neat boutique shops, and restaurants make it a really unique place. We ate at 15 South Ristorante Enoteca and not a single dish out of about 10 disappointed. The Publix grocery store only takes about 8-9 minutes to get to from the house. We will definitely come back to this property and look forward to seeing our hosts and house again. Owner's Response: We have been very fortunate with the families that have chosen to stay with us. I know what it is like to travel with children and try to keep their schedule in a new environment. We try to make your holiday as memorable as possible. Many families don’t want to leave the house because it is so comfortable and includes everything that a home needs, comfort , security ,and convenience of location.

Amazing Beach Vacation

  • 5 of 5
Overall my family had a wonderful time in Siesta Key and staying at the "Hideaway". I am by far a picky traveler, and I usually hate reviews because I never know the personality of the writer, but I will do my best to be accurate. The place was HUGE and perfect for our large group. There were 7 adults, 4 kids ages 6-11 and two kids under 2. The rooms were big enough to have my kids sleep in with me in a pack and play and blow up mattress. The pool was clean and heated, and the kids absolutely loved having their own pool. The walk to the beach was very easy and short. The walk to the village was a bit longer, and not awful, but with small kids it was easier to drive. We tried the free taxi, but at spring break it was very hard to get one. I already called and tried to book for next year, so I would come back and stay again. Siesta Key is a beautiful beach and the location of the house is perfect!!

Owner's Response: We have reserved next year for this lively family. It was great seeing the kids enjoy the pool. What was not mentioned was the bike rental agency right on the Key. We know the owners and had them give a discount for renting bikes for the whole family. Sarasota County broke ground on the expanded Siesta Beach Pavilion and amenity area. It is due to be completed Winter 2014 with additional 200 free parking spaces.

Great Spot & Very Comfortable Property

Great Spot & Very Comfortable Property

What a wonderful vacation. Starting with Bob who met us there, never intrusive but just a phone call away. We were one block from the Gulf with white clean beaches. This house provided the privacy for breakfast in my PJ's on the rooftop deck each morning with a good book. My family especially enjoyed the heated pool. In the afternoon we simply walked 4 minutes to the beach to reopen the above mentioned book and begin again. Others took long walks on the glorious white sand I preferred to sit on the beach enjoy the frequent birds. January was the warmest in years, hot days and cool nights. In the evenings we simply drove, walked or called for the guys riding ‘rickshaw’ bikes for tips who would take you to town. The village was only a 13 minute walk. We learned which of the charming restaurants had the specials and what times. January weather was amazing as Racine was in the single digits for most of it. Of the entire vacation, my first month long trip, the only bad time I had was packing to go home. I would recommend I would recommend this charming ‘Siesta Beach Hideaway’.

Owner's Response: Owner's Response: We were so happy to have this group here. The new feature on siesta Key is FREE taxi services. They work on tips and use Pedicabs or golf carts. It gives visitors very reliable and cost effective means of getting to the 'Village' and sightseeing around the key.
We are happy to continue offering the best value, cleanliness, and up to date furnishings for our guests. There are now Kayak tours both guided and not. They deliver them to the launch at Turtle Beach just 10 minutes at the South end of Siesta Key.
