Waterfront Beauty - Homosassa - Boat Dock - Double Kayak /Bikes/Large sun porch

My wife and I have long wanted to visit the Crystal River / Homosassa area and try scalloping. Been thinking about it since we moved to Florida many years ago. Finally got around to it this year and made a spur-of-the-moment decision to go.

Since we have had good success in the past using VRBO that's where we started looking for a place to stay. We thought we would take our boat over so a consideration was a place on the water where we could dock it and have access to the Gulf. We quickly found this property and decided it was exactly what we wanted. We sent an email inquiry and heard back in no time at all. The owner's were exceptionally helpful in making the arrangements and providing extensive information about the area as well as recommendations about restaurants, scalloping guides, etc.

After talking with a local guide and booking our initial scalloping excursion, he strongly recommended that we not bring our boat on this first visit. Since we were only staying a few days we decided to take his advice and left the boat at home. No regrets -- we had a 'no stress' scalloping adventure. Next time we will probably take the boat now that we some experience (we boated extensively in other areas of Florida).

The property is great! Well furnished and well maintained. We took advantage of the kayak for a morning of paddling on the canals around the property. Also had dinner at The Freezer a couple nights and highly recommend it.

We look forward to a longer return visit in the future, probably along with our extended family. We both found that we really like this laid back, 'old' Florida area.
