Only about one mile equidistant from both the University of Washington main campus and Seattle Children's Regional Medical Center--a 30-minute walk / less than 10-minute bike ride--and easily reached via the nearby Burke Gilman trail. Less than 6 miles from the Space Needle (Seattle Center); 8 miles from Safeco and Qwest Fields. There are several bus lines within a city block allowing convenient pedestrian access to all the city's sights. Access to I-5 and SR-520 is easy for exploring the greater metropolitan and outlying areas.

Other Activities: The nearby UW offers many high-quality attractions. Be sure to visit the nearby Arboretum while you're here! Great for a beautiful, rejuvenating hike/stroll, or rent a canoe or rowboat around the corner from there at the Waterfront Activities Center and enjoy the scenery from an aquatic perspective. Also nearby the University of Washington Center for Urban Horticulture, adjacent to the Union Bay Natural Area: a public wildlife area, natural restoration laboratory, and an important habitat next to Lake Washington. At 74 acres, with 4 miles of shoreline, it is the second largest natural system left on the lake. Considered one of the best bird-watching sites in the city of Seattle, over 200 species of birds have been sighted here.

Perfect home for family

5 of 5
Submitted: April 10, 2013 Stayed: August 2012
My husband and I have two small children and were in Seattle for our friend's wedding. This house was the PERFECT place to stay! My husband was in the wedding and was pretty busy with preparations but my kids and I hardly noticed he was gone we were so at home here.

The house was just the right size for the four of us, beautifully decorated, immaculately cleaned, AND had toys set up in the children's bedroom. The yard out front was just right for picnics and building fairy houses-a favorite activity of my daughter's! It was quick and easy to get downtown, the toy store down the street is adorable, the neighborhood is cozy and welcoming, and quiet! We loved our time at this house and will definitely try to stay here every time we are in Seattle!

Good location, Clean & Comfortable

Good location, Clean & Comfortable

Submitted: July 23, 2012 Stayed: July 2012
This is a very comfortable, not-high-end but very adequate home, with a very good location near the University of Washington. We were four brothers and cousins (ages 24-42) in town for a family reunion, and the home met all our needs wonderfully. It's not a huge home - 1 bedroom with a king bed, second bedroom with a twin bed, plus a comfortable pull-out/expandable sleeper sofa in the living room - but it fit the four of us just fine.

Best parts: Home is well-maintained and is welcoming. Property manager clearly does a good job, as the owners are overseas. Kitchen is well-stocked with dinnerware, pots, etc., for people who enjoy cooking at home. Very good location near north end of UW campus, easy getting around to downtown with a car or bus.

Not as good parts: Only one bathroom, so plan as needed. Home is not large - 4 of us were fine, but any more would be pushing it.

So, all in all, a very good property for our stay! The owner (April) was very friendly and talked with me for 30 minutes to give me the "low-down" on Seattle (I'd never been). We took her advice on lots of activities.

Thanks to April and her family!

Great location, neighborhood and a wonderful home!

Lovely home in a great location. From the moment we entered the house, we felt at home. It was very well kept and all the amenities were there! We traveled with two kids and it is a very kids friendly home.

Anywhere I go, its important the beds are comfortable. It sure was! We all slept well and were fresh in the morning for some adventure and sight seeing!

Its close to the university and downtown Seattle was 15 mins drive.

Overall, highly recommend this place and when we visit Seattle the next time, we will love to stay here again.

Seattle visit

Comfortable home with well equipped kitchen. Clean and good laundry facilities. King bed was conforable with good linens. Location was perfect for our needs. Living room furniture was not particularly comfortable. Lovely yard but the grass was about 2 feet high and needed mowing. Overall had a very good experience. Would recommend to others and come again.

Owner's Response: Glad to hear you enjoyed your month in our home during what is arguably the most gorgeous time of year in Seattle. When I first arrived from the Midwest during the spring of 1990, I was stunned by the stark contrast of greenness everywhere and the ability of vegetation to grow so large so quickly, without any help from me; unlike the hesitant lawn and petite camellias I left behind in Kansas City (another great town, but with completely different growing conditions). May in Seattle is typically lush, verdant and dripping with color, but this year Mother Nature really outdid herself. Our exuberant camellias that your husband admired were beneficiaries of the unusual warmth that accompanied the rain this year, as was all the rest of the green growth. It's always a challenge to keep up with the grass there in the spring, even more so during this one. The window of opportunity for machine mowing (when it's not wet) can be very small. At your complimentary mid-stay cleaning, our property manager noticed the front lawn would need to be mowed again soon. That task was assigned to our landscaping personnel, who apparently delegated the task unsuccessfully, without our knowledge. Our property manager is local, but not onsite; daily visits to the house are not provided for within the discount pricing structure of a monthly rental, and we like to keep physical disruption of the guest's stay to a minimum, so we especially rely on our longer-term guests to alert us promptly about any items needing attention.
So sorry to hear you did not like our sofa. Our living-room sectional is practical, platform (no springs), and reliably comfortable as a pullout sleeper according to our past guests with larger families, who have appreciated this essential feature during their stay. We consider it to be quite comfortable to sit on as well, but can see how some folks might be accustomed to a more enveloping construction. Here also, I regret not having been given the opportunity to perhaps provide some extra cushions to help approximate the "overstuffed" feeling of many American sofas.
We always try to encourage our guests to stay in communication with us and / or our property manager during their stay and provide many options and opportunities for doing so. We are happy and able to resolve most issues, but can only do so if we know they exist.

Great location, walk to shops and restaurants, neat, tidy, comfortable

This cute cottage in Ravenna is an easy place to stay in so many ways - it's walking distance to good coffee, breakfast, lunch and dinner cafes and restaurants as well as really great shopping at U-village...admittedly there's a hill on the way home but it's a pleasant walk. Easy drive to downtown, Green Lake area, Bellevue or anywhere in the Seattle area really.

The house is also easy to stay in as the owners are so helpful; they went out of their way to answer all of my questions and provide as much information as possible via email. The house is beautifully clean, with a great kitchen to prepare meals in and no fuss but comfortable style to the lounge and bedrooms....the master bed is super comfy and cosy!

We stayed here for a week with two children aged 11 and 13. Although there are only 2 beds - king bed and single there's a fold-out lounge that converts to a single bed in the second bedroom and this worked out very well for us. We were out and about most of the time we were in Seattle and the house suited our needs - central to most tourist type destinations, clean, warm, comfortable and affordable with simple but inviting decor and pleasant transactions with the owner.
